What a can of frickin’ worms SCOTUS opened up today with that birthright decision.
I mean, God bless the president for being magnanimous – if ever you expected him to blow, it would have been that one.
Guy’s full of surprises and even sometimes springs them at the most opportune moment.
But the decision has opened a Pandora’s box of ‘What are we gonna do NOW, George?’ speculation that’s some part fantasy and some parts that have you thinking, ‘There may be something to that…‘
The Birthright ruling today is just so over the top absurd.
The message to the world is clear: No sworn Oath of Allegiance from the parents is needed. You don’t need to worry about waiting in line, assimilating or learning English. Just break into McAllen, TX and pop out a baby…

…You don’t need to worry about waiting in line, assimilating or learning English. Just break into McAllen, TX and pop out a baby in the McDonald’s bathroom.
While we wait, perhaps forever, for Congress…
There was never a time when the right way to address birthright was at SCOTUS. It’s always been a legislative/constitutional issue. I’d have said even the blindest of the blind could have seen that, but…

…not that there aren’t a few stalwarts in the Senate who are willing to try, including Rand Paul.
They won’t even pass one sentence that says – stop changing the clocks.

On the subject of a somnolent Senate, what a shame a Harry Reid piece of introduced legislation didn’t become law.
Did I say that?
Why, yes – yes, I did.
DO

…The “Immigration Stabilization Act of 1993” never made it out of the Senate Judiciary Committee.
Rats.
But it’s already written for them. Tweak a couple of things, take that old SOB’s name off of it, and get cranking.
There’s a concept.
Reminder: TPS holders have had at least 360,000 children (and likely more) in the United States. TPS holders from just three countries, El Salvador, Honduras, and Haiti, have had over 270,000 children in the U.S.

Now, a congressman has already proposed a new kind of stopgap measure. It’s being introduced by Rep. Andy Ogles of Tennessee’s 5th Congressional District.

I had already been following a lively discussion underway on X about that very subject. Lots of ideas.
And who’s to say what’s crazy or what’s ‘too extreme’ when one is talking in reference to the very sacred right of American citizenship itself.
One conservative group had a punitive plan ready to go.
– Prioritize deportations of parents of anchor babies
– Tax illegal aliens for giving birth in the US
– Targeted deportations based on how many illegal family members would be caught in the net
– Station ICE outside of hospitals and birthing centers
– Ban visas from countries that participate in birth tourism
The ‘Oversight Project’ cuts illegal and anchor baby schemes no husses, excoriating the SCOTUS decision.
…Oversight Project President Mike Howell gave this statement:
“My country is more than a pile of magic dirt. While the Supreme Court may consider anchor babies of illegal aliens to be citizens, they are not my countrymen. Citizenship means something more than jumping a border and having a baby while here illegally. The Oversight Project is ready to assist the Trump Administration in all ways to mitigate the harm caused by today’s Supreme Court decision. America needs to mass deport illegals here and limit visas, so that there aren’t opportunities for anchor babies to be born and receive ill-gained citizenship. Parents and would-be parents of anchor babies should be deported so that the families can remain together in their home country. This is the common-sense, safe, orderly, and humane way to respond to this crisis. It is also the way to make sure America is great, because America cannot be great while suffering from the consequences of unchecked mass illegal immigration.
America cannot be great when a communist billionaire in China can ship his sperm to women in California so that he can have American citizen children and then reap the benefits associated with that. I wish I did not have to write that sentence, but our Supreme Court has given me no choice.”
Sincerely. Stop them before they even reach the border.
Almost none of it sounds ‘too crazy’ in retrospect.
Apparently more border controls will be needed to thwart anchor baby tourism.
Pregnancy tests for all foreign women of birthing age seeking to enter the United States. OK.
Targeted deportations of foreign women of birthing age within US borders who lack resident alien status.…

Because the implications of the decision are staggering for what ‘citizenship’ was and what it could mean to this country going forward.
CJ Roberts — the Court would not have reached the issue without him — has green-lit the CCP to continue sending pregnant women to the U.S. to give birth to U.S. citizens, and then return to China to raise them as Chinese Communists — who will have a right to vote by mail in…

…and then return to China to raise them as Chinese Communists — who will have a right to vote by mail in U.S. elections for President.
If he believes no foreign government would consider such a scheme, he’s a fool.
What we would have left of this country at these rates.
As to birth tourism, the Assistant Attorney General just a few minutes ago released a memorandum on fighting and prosecuting the fraud. Throwing down the gauntlet, if you will.

And things are moving fast, even as I’m writing this post. My idea about Harry Reid’s 33-year-old proposed legislation?
Sen Bernie Moreno is on it.
I like the cut of his jib.
🚨 JUST IN: Sen. @BernieMoreno pledges to run former Democrat Senate Leader Harry Reid’s EXACT 1993 bill ELIMINATING birthright citizenship for children of illegals

…Harry Reid NAILED it 🔥: “If you break our laws by entering this country without permission and give birth to a child, we reward that child with U.S. citizenship and guarantee FULL ACCESS to all public and social services this society provides.”
“NO sane country would do that, right?! Guess again.”
“Is it any wonder that two-thirds of the babies born at taxpayer expense at county-run hospitals in Los Angeles are born to ILLEGAL ALIEN mothers?” 🎯
(GREAT job finding this bill @BillMelugin_)
And ZOMG, would that not be the most delicious of delicious karmic paybacks if that miserable, hateful scallywag’s ancient, forgotten bill became a Republican triumph?!
I am beside myself.
The blessing of being an ‘American’ is precious beyond all measure. There is no privilege like it on Earth.
It should be safeguarded jealously and defended ferociously.
We’ll be watching to see who does.
