I wrote about this story in February of 2025. It was an exchange the made news around the world because the behavior of two nurses in a Sydney hospital was so outrageous.
There is a site called Chatruletka which pairs people with random strangers around the world to have a video chat. Yesterday a content creator in Israel name Max Veifer started a chat with a man who turned out to be working in a hospital in New South Wales, Australia.
The chat started out respectfully with an exchange of locations but moments later it took a dark turn. The Australian “doctor,” whose name is Ahmad Rashad Nadir, told Max that he was going to die and go to hell.
Nadir was not a doctor, he was a nurse. In any case things got worse when another nurse named Sarah Abu Lebdeh jumped on the video call. “When your time comes, I want you to remember my face so you can understand you will die the most disgusting death,” she said. Asked if how she would treat Israeli patients who came to her hospital, she replied, “I won’t treat them, I will kill them.”
Here’s the video:
A MUST SHARE: An Australian doctor, and a medical professional by his side, claim they have kiIIed Israeli patients — and will continue to do so.
They gleefully confess to murder. Then wish death upon the Israeli talking to them.
Let’s find them!

Both of those nurses retained attorneys and the police in Australia started an investigation, including talking to Max Veifer, the Israeli on the other end of the call. They were both fired and lost their licenses to practice medicine. They will not be allowed to work as nurses again anywhere in Australia.
However, both of them are also facing criminal charges with a trial set to start next month. But today a judge ruled that the original video recording would be inadmissible in that trial.
A video of two Sydney nurses allegedly making antisemitic comments to an Israeli influencer has been ruled inadmissible as evidence as the pair prepare to go to trial.
Ahmad Nadir, 28, and Sarah Abu Lebdeh, 27, have pleaded not guilty to being menacing and offensive when they allegedly said they would refuse to treat Israeli patients and threatened violence against them.
The pair are due to face a trial at the end of August but the rejection of key footage has delivered a blow to the prosecution case.
The judge, Michael McHugh, on Tuesday ruled that videos and any other recordings of the conversation could not be admitted as evidence.
One of the nurses expressed gratitude for the ruling. A lawyer for the other nurse suggested the case would collapse without the tape.
Outside court, Ms Abu Lebdeh said she was “grateful” for the court’s decision.
“I’m thankful for everyone that supported me, my friends and my family and my lawyer,” she told waiting media, per reports from the ABC.
Her lawyer, Rayan Kadidi, called the decision a “major victory” and said she did not think there was any evidence to charge her client…
Zemarai Khatiz, acting for Mr Nadir, said the evidence had been excluded and the “prosecution case will collapse as a result of the exclusion”.
The trial was set to start on Aug. 31, but with the video excluded I’m not sure what evidence the prosecution has to present. If the video is out then presumably the transcript of it is also out. There is no other evidence, that I’m aware of, to support the charges.
I guess you could argue that the ex-nurses have been punished enough by losing their jobs and any right to practice medicine in the future. Still, the judge’s contention that this random video call with a stranger from another country should be treated as a private communication seems ridiculous. I understand that there are lots of 2-party consent states here in the U.S. but I tend to think these laws make no sense.
Did the nurses in this case get what they deserved or should they face charges as well? In case you’re wondering, both of them are Australian citizens so there is probably no circumstance under which either of them could be deported at this point. They were never going to leave no matter what happened in this case.
