Federal agents arrested two more men in connection with the foiled terrorist attack that sought to kill President Trump and other high-level officials at the UFC Freedom 250 event held at the White House earlier this month.
The Department of Justice said they took William Lee Spartacus Falkner, of Washington state, and Jordan W. Rincker, of Missouri, into custody after the two were accused of helping hatch the plot that sought to use explosive drones and sniper ambushes at the historic cagefight.
“Law enforcement continues to do what it does — move to disrupt and hold accountable those allegedly plotting to do harm on the White House Grounds on June 14,” acting Attorney General Todd Blanche said Monday in a statement. “Each and every day, the FBI and their federal, state and local law enforcement partners, along with U.S. Attorneys offices across the country, safeguard American communities and our nation’s security.”
Authorities said Mr. Falkner was tasked with manufacturing and piloting the drones, including loading explosives onto them to trigger the initial phase of the attack.
The DOJ accused Mr. Rincker of meeting up with Abraham Hermosillo Alvarez — the Nebraska-based ringleader of the group who is also an illegal immigrant from Mexico — and trading a shotgun for equipment used to create the drones.
In total, seven men have been arrested on murder conspiracy charges in the thwarted attack meant to take place at the White House’s South Lawn.
Mr. Alvarez and Tycen Proper, of Ohio, face additional charges for conspiracy against the United States.
