DALLAS—Robert F. Kennedy Jr., secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services, credited Charlie Kirk for bringing him and President Donald Trump together and for making the Make America Healthy Again agenda possible.
“Charlie played a critical and indispensable role in bringing me and President Trump together,” he said on Thursday at the 2026 Republican National Committee’s Midterm Convention. “In fact, it was something that he was trying to do for almost a year. …And today, on the first anniversary of his assassination, I can’t stand here without thinking about him.”
Kennedy reflected on the first time he met Trump at an event with Kirk, where they shook hands and promised to make America healthy again.
“Some of my Democratic friends told me that I was a fool for trusting Trump, and so I want to make the record clear right now: President Trump has kept every single promise that he can make without exception,” he said. “We have kept our promise to the American people. Today, two years into this administration, Americans are eating more real food,” he continued.
Kennedy noted major MAHA wins, including an 8% increase in real food sales in 2025 and a 7% drop in obesity after nearly 40 years of increases in America. Kennedy also announced a new study from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention that indicates the administration reversed a 30-year decline in longevity, indicating Americans are healthier and living longer.
“I am so grateful to God for giving our country a leader like this. …We are making America healthy again. It’s up to you now. We need to elect a Republican Congress to keep this momentum,” he said.
