Preaching the Word of God Is 'Hate Speech' – HotAir

Liberals think that Christians who complain about the war on our religion are being too sensitive, and no doubt there are occasions when annoying restrictions do not cross the line into infringing on our rights, even if they are, prima facie, aimed at suppressing Christianity. 





But most of the time, the reason why liberals don’t see what is obvious to most of us is that they think Christianity is dumb, Christians have too much power and cultural influence in America, and they like the idea of us being “put in our place.” 

How do I know that this is true, other than being subjected to many a discussion in which people assume I am agnostic or an atheist and they let their anti-Christian freak flag fly? Easy: the rules they apply to Christians are almost exclusively applied to them; when members of a minority religion make the most outrageous demands, there is a rush to accommodate them. 

We see it all the time. Muslims stopping traffic to pray in the streets, hate speech enforcement in countries like the UK and Canada that punish Christians for saying anodyne things or reading the Bible in public while allowing Muslims to make explicit threats, school celebrations of Islamic holidays while Easter breaks are transformed into “Spring breaks.” Setting aside prayer rooms and installing Muslim foot-washing stations in public buildings. 

People can get arrested for silent prayers in some European countries. 





We can never let Muslims gain more political power in America

Muslim mayor of Dearborn Michigan says that ‘agitators’ against Muslims should be charged with hate crimes and is directing his Attorney General to explore charges

He calls for an end of free speech when it comes to criticizing Muslims. He says it’s a “hate crime”

“A fine line between free speech and then inciting riots and things of that nature — I would, uh, take that question and actually channel it towards our attorney general to see what she may do with her hate crimes unit to see if there’s anything that can be levied against these agitators and provocateurs that come to Dearborn”

So Muslims are allowed to take over America and openly chant death to America and openly say they want to replace our government with Sharia Law but we Americans aren’t allowed to challenge them….

The enforcement of “hate speech” laws for anybody who disparages Islam is partially motivated by a bizarre attraction of some Leftists to the tyrannical impulses of Islam, while others appreciate Islam because it has so explicitly made common cause with the communist Left. But the most powerful excuse trotted out for silencing Christians in Muslim-dominated areas is simple: everybody knows the tendency of some Muslims to get violent when their beliefs are challenged. 

Obviously, it’s not just Muslims who do this. It’s a common tactic of the Left in general. Colleges and universities routinely charge outrageous security fees for conservative speakers because they know that Leftist students will get violent; they like that fact because it gives the Left a “heckler’s veto.” School administrators are as hostile to Christians and conservatives as the students themselves, so in their view, everybody wins if you can shut up pro-lifers, conservatives, or Christians unwilling to shut up about it. 





Of course, liberal Christians don’t mind the restrictions themselves because Christians who evangelize are almost exclusively conservative, so going along with Lefties who want to shut them up suits them fine. 

The people of Dearborn are once again under attack from an out-of-state influencer looking for controversy. The Mayor @AHammoudMI, the Police Chief, and religious leaders of all faiths are again showing leadership and demonstrating that Michigan is united against hate and Islamophobia.

Dearborn is as Michigan as it gets, and as Police Chief Issa Shahin said, these individuals are coming for one reason and one reason alone: To provoke a reaction.

The most powerful thing this community can do is give them an audience. Don’t give them the satisfaction.

Lefty politicians like the trend because it moves the Overton Window in their direction, at least in the short run. No doubt they will regret their alliance with Islamists once they become dominant because these Muslims may be friendly enough to the useful idiots today, but they will change their tune when they acquire more power, as in places like Dearborn. 





In Dearborn, ordinary citizens who object to naming streets after terrorists are told to leave town, and in many big cities in America there are Sharia police who drive around in official-looking cars and wear uniforms mimicking city police, telling women to cover up. Imagine if they were Christians trying to do the same thing. 

We don’t have blasphemy laws in the United States, although they are on the horizon. The UK already has them by another name, although, ironically, blasphemy against trans ideology is as unacceptable as criticizing Mohammed. 

I guess diversity is our strength. 

Even politicians who are not so friendly with Islamists are giving in to the heckler’s veto. 





Bill Maher: “A few weeks ago, a liberal Democrat named Melissa Chaudhry running for Congress in Seattle was asked, ‘Why, among the many liberal causes listed on her website, LGBT rights was conspicuously absent?’ Because she said, ‘a lot of Muslims do not feel that way, unfortunately.’” 

“Is this the progressive policy now? Is Ms. Chaudhry right? We throw gay people under the bus anytime it clashes with what makes Muslims uncomfortable.” 

Islam is NOT compatible with Western Civilization!

A politician who supports alphabet ideology and would shove books about gay sex down the throats of Kindergarteners will also remain silent about it while running for office, not because the idea offends most people, but because it offends Muslims in particular. 

This is insane, and it will only get worse. 

One of the arguments Minnesota’s Department of Education used against prosecuting fraud was that it was committed by Somalis, and you sure don’t want to offend them by enforcing the law, you know.

Islam is not strictly a religion: it is a political project, and Sharia law is inextricably linked to it. And Sharia explicitly demands censorship of non-Muslims. 





That is not un-American in the sense that not liking Apple Pie is un-American; it is un-American in the sense that opposing the foundational principles of our country is.
