For some reason, the past week has been especially taxing for me.
It’s not the pace of writing, even though I write six posts totaling several thousand words a day. That comes naturally to me. Before I started blogging here, I wrote a similar amount on my Facebook feed. Of course, I didn’t have deadlines then, but I also didn’t have a set number of posts to do daily, and I would routinely blow past the number of posts I do here, although the entries were shorter.
In other words, writing is a release for me, not a burden.
No, what has made the recent couple of weeks so taxing is that I am watching a full-blown color revolution happen with my city as ground zero, but my country as the target. As I follow the events unfolding here, I see a parallel information operation unfolding, completely distorting what is happening.
That information operation is working on people I know, and it is dispiriting. People I know have this image of rampaging ICE officers storming hospitals, schools, and workplaces, beating people up, shooting randomly, and arresting “journalists” for doing nothing but reporting.
People are getting hysterical because they believe what they are being told. There is a flood of propaganda out there, and it feels like fighting a tsunami. It’s not that the evidence to rebut any particular accusation isn’t there; it’s that the accusations fly at you like bullets from a machine gun, and the spray-and-pray tactic of the opposition is overwhelming our ability to get the truth out. (Gee, how many mixed metaphors in there?)
The anti-enforcement operation is so well-funded, so well-planned, and so coordinated with the politicians and the media that the lies have become truth in the target audience’s minds. It is impossible to break through. You can show people the videos that put an event in context, and people will just say, “That’s AI.”
No, it isn’t. In fact, the Democrats are putting AI on TV (MSNBC, anyone?) and even take AI-generated images onto the floor of the Senate, and people will believe that, because they still trust the same people who convinced them that Biden was sharp as a tack and that Jussie Smollett was attacked in Chicago because it is MAGA country.
I see interviews on CNN where people who committed crimes get to tell their stories, filled with lies and distortions, and not only go unchallenged, but no request is made to DHS for their side of the story. It is as if the Menendez brothers were put on TV to tell us why they were persecuted without looking at the actual evidence. The lie was pushed as the only version that could be true.
I’ve seen a ton of these, but my favorite was this one:
This was only from YESTERDAY and it did not age well.
Nekima Armstrong LIED to CNN and said the mob group participated in the church service they disrupted.
Now she’s arrested.
Mess around and find out what happens. pic.twitter.com/XObfOCXDgj

Here was Nekima Levy Armstrong on CN just a few days ago.
She tries to run cover for herself and her goon squad saying they didn’t “rush” into the church, even though it’s on camera.
Of course CNN’s Erin Burnett did absolutely nothing to push back whatsoever.
“Obviously I’m not going to dispute your saying what happened. I am merely describing how CNN is describing it. I obviously wasn’t in the room.”
CNN had the video and days to inspect it, and knew that she was lying. Does CNN never dispute what a guest says? Really? Every interview of a Republican not parroting The Narrative™ gets called a liar.
I admit to being a bit depressed. It is emotionally taxing to fight this flood of disinformation, knowing that the target audience for the propaganda is swallowing it in its entirety.
I also have a strong sense of what the strategy is and where this is going, and I know that the next year is going to be brutal. One of the key strategies for the Democrats is to keep the chaos going until the midterms at least. Having lost the 2024 election, they are trying to invalidate it through force.
Of course, Red states are somewhat immune to this strategy, but their goal is to capture some purple seats to get a majority in Congress and win some seats in the Senate. Their voting base is in a state of frenzy and moral outrage, and actually seems to believe that literal rapists and murderers are sweet, hardworking, and innocent victims of an “occupying force” with the tactics and intentions of the Gestapo.
It’s exhausting.

This is literally true. I have taken the CC class, and it is very much like that
