Leftists Applaud for the Terrorist, Ban the Victim From Speaking – HotAir

I sometimes wonder whether the Great Sort isn’t a good idea, despite the fact that the increasing geographic separation of liberals and conservatives into homogenous communities is terrible for social trust.

I think that because 1) liberals ruin everything they touch, 2) liberals hate us with a passion that burns hotter than the corona of the sun, and 3), I can’t get past the fact that liberals always, always, ALWAYS side with the morally bankrupt, calling them “victims.”

Earlier today, I wrote about the New York Times’ podcast with Hasan Piker, in which he described the moral justification for killing Brian Thompson, stealing from evil capitalists, and, by extension, explained his propensity to discuss murdering people he doesn’t like.

It was a lovely conversation, filled with joviality. Yeah, that Luigi Mangione guy is a great guy, just as Taylor Lorenz told us.

Obviously, it’s not just Hasan Piker, who is the “It” guy among Democrats now, along with Nazi-tattoo man Graham Platner. You see this moral inversion everywhere.

No place more than on college campuses, where you find wonderful people who call for all Jews to be killed, who tear down posters of innocent hostages, and who applaud wildly for terrorists who tried to blow up their own car in a suicide attack

A failed Palestinian car bomber released as part of an October 7 Massacre hostage ransom spoke remotely to University of California, Berkeley students on Monday at an event held in one of the university’s classrooms, according to social media posts by the organizing student groups.

Israa Jaabis, who was convicted of an attempted car bombing in Jerusalem in 2015, spoke by video call to students at Berkeley Law School classroom 170 during a Palestinian Political Prisoners Day event organized by Berkeley Law Students for Justice in Palestine and UC Berkeley Students for Justice in Palestine.

A video posted on Wednesday by UCB SJP, in which Jaabis addresses the students, shows a full classroom of students clapping for the failed terrorist.

Jaabis was released as part of a swap with Hamas that allowed them to get 15 hostages back, making the case that Israel should just kill terrorists through the death penalty, instead of holding them, as the college students assert, “political prisoners.” Nothing says “political prisoner” more than putting a failed terrorist in jail.

How could they?! Don’t they know that killing civilians is a political statement, just as killing health care executives is?

I decided to write about this because of the confluence of two events that show the moral inversion perfectly.

UC Berkeley students give wild applause for a terrorist, while UCLA cancels an event where a victim of terrorists was to speak

On April 14, the UCLA Y&S Nazarian Center for Israel Studies, together with Hillel — a Jewish students’ association — hosted an event featuring Omer Shem Tov, a 23-year-old who was abducted by terrorists from the Nova music festival on Oct. 7, 2023, and held captive by Hamas for 505 days.

One week later, the Undergraduate Students Association Council released a statement condemning the event on the grounds that it “advance[d] incomplete and harmful representations of ongoing violence.”

Apparently, the man who was held captive underground for 505 days was supposed to bring along one of his Hamas captors to give the other side, and perhaps explain why they raped and murdered other Israelis.

It wouldn’t be fair to let him share his experiences.

Leftism thrives on projection and moral inversion. Its main tactic is the one that abusers use, called DARVO.

DARVO is the acronym for Deny, Attack, Reverse Victim and Offender.

“Look what you made me do, bitch!”

Or, to listen to Hasan Piker, rioting, stealing, and murdering people you dislike is perfectly acceptable, because you are the real victim.

Deny. Attack. Reverse Victim and Offender. You just watched it in action. Luigi Mangioni kills a man, and it is Piers Morgan’s fault.

Look what you made him do!

We saw the same thing with the murder of Charlie Kirk, and we see it all day, every day.

That’s how you wind up with a crowd of liberal students applauding a terrorist and denying a hostage of terrorists the opportunity to speak.
