You can’t make this stuff up.

If you spend any time on X, you will see that the left is now pushing the narrative that Charlie Kirk’s assassin was actually a Republican because his parents were.

Those Antifa scribblings? Misdirection. The fact that he shot a conservative friend of the Trump family? It is part of a fascist conspiracy to start the civil war that the left has been calling for over the past decade.

Seriously, they are going with that.

Just because Tyler Robinson’s parents might support the President does not mean that Robinson himself does. One of my college buddies votes for Democrats down the ballot, but both of his parents and his brother are conservative.

There are lots of these posts out there, and some of them are sharing photos and personal information of young men with the same name (I won’t spread those), but I think a man who worked in the White House for Bill Clinton and runs an anti-Trump political action committee is fair game.

He is followed by all the Best™ lefties, and has over 200,000 people on Twitter, and of course has a Bluesky following as well.

Harry Sisson, who I believe is a paid operative of the Democratic Party or an affiliated organization, spread a similar rumor.

Obviously, they don’t expect most people to buy into this, but most people aren’t their audience. What they are trying to do is reinforce a narrative in their cohort’s minds to sustain the worldview that keeps them tightly together.

People naturally divide the world into categories. Many people in the anti-Israel camp–both left and right in this case–are saying that Israel committed this heinous act. Others are spinning weird conspiracies that there was a massive conspiracy to take Charlie Kirk out.

There is zero evidence for either of these theories, and both are implausible. Just as implausible as the claim that Israel conducted a drone strike against Greta Thunberg.

But it fits their conception of how the world works. And influencers work hard to maintain that conception.

Yes, I do believe that globalists are working every day to reshape society in their image and using government power to do so. But no, not every bad thing is caused by this conspiracy. It’s not even a secret conspiracy–just go to any transnational institution’s website and they will describe it.

Same with Antifa–they tell you who they are and what they are doing.

Follow the evidence, and if some claim is too “on the nose” and fits your prejudices, think twice. Most things are what they seem.

Tyler Robinson was a normal kid from a good family who went off to college and got radicalized. It’s a pretty common story, and reminds us that colleges and universities are in desperate need of reform. Look at all the teachers and academics openly celebrating Kirk’s death.

People who go down this deep into a rabbit hole are being driven there by the gaslighting–and the gaslighters know exactly what they are doing.
