Two New Jersey men were apprehended in connection with a thwarted terror attack over Halloween weekend in Michigan.
Tomas Kaan Jimenez-Guzal and Milo Sederat were arrested Tuesday, while additional accomplices are under investigation, according to reports.
FBI Director Kash Patel said the potential terrorist attack was prevented early Friday as federal search warrants went to homes in Dearborn and a U-Haul storage unit in Inkster.
One of the two New Jerseyans, a 19-year-old, was taken into custody at Newark Liberty International Airport, and the other was arrested Wednesday.
The teen was planning to fly to Turkey and perhaps travel to Syria, according to NBC.
Both are from Montclair, although the FBI did not specify who is who.
Both are expected to appear in federal court in Newark later Wednesday, NBC said, and details of the charges are expected to be announced later in the day.
This comes after two suspects, Mohmed Ali and Majed Mahmoud, were charged with receiving and transferring firearms and ammunition to commit terrorism, according to a criminal complaint filed Monday.
It was not immediately clear whether Mr. Sederat and Mr. Jimenez-Guzal are among the unnamed co-conspirators described in court documents.
Mr. Ali and an unnamed person discussed plans in encrypted communications to conduct an attack on behalf of the Islamic State terrorist group.
Mr. Mahmoud and Mr. Ali purchased high-powered firearms, accessories and ammunition before shooting at multiple gun ranges, according to the complaint.
They both made an initial appearance in federal court on Monday.
