Trump says no decisions made on Iran yet

President Trump says he hasn’t decided how to handle the Iran-Israel war.

“I have ideas as to what to do,” Mr. Trump said Wednesday in the Oval Office. “But I haven’t made a final — I like to make a final decision one second before it’s due because things change.”

He added, “Things change with war; it can go from one extreme to the other. War is very bad. There was no reason for this to be a war.”

Mr. Trump said he had a meeting scheduled later in the day in the Situation Room regarding the Iranians.

“They should’ve made the deal,” he said. “I had a great deal for them. … In the end they decided not to do it and now they wish they did it.”

He said Iranian officials want to meet, even though it’s “a little late” for that, although he added he might let them to come to the White House.

When asked if he thought the current regime in Iran could fall, he said, “Sure. Anything could happen.”

Mr. Trump said he doesn’t want to get involved in the conflict, but maintained that Iran can’t have a nuclear weapon.

“I believe they’d use it. Others won’t use it, but I’d believe they’d use it. So that’s it, it’s very simple. They can’t have a nuclear weapon,” he said.
