Ahem. Did NBC News just do a reverse Rip Van Winkle and wake up in the Biden Regency?
Donald Trump engages daily with the media. He has had tough talks with allies in Europe and the Gulf about war operations with Iran and the quasi-blockade in the Strait of Hormuz. He and Secretary of War Pete Hegseth have coordinated one of the most successful war operations in military history against a significant foe, along with Israel and Benjamin Netanyahu. The combined effort has sunk an entire navy in two weeks and achieved total air supremacy in a matter of hours, while decapitating the regime that had conducted a low-level war against the US since November 1979.
Somehow, the president who did all of this in less than a month is being isolated and misled by his aides, according to NBC News:
EXCLUSIVE: Each day since the start of the war, U.S. military officials compile a video update for President Trump that shows the biggest, most successful strikes on Iranian targets over the previous 48 hours.
But the military can’t brief Trump on every strike and so the video,…

Each day since the start of the war in Iran, U.S. military officials compile a video update for President Donald Trump that shows video of the biggest, most successful strikes on Iranian targets over the previous 48 hours, three current U.S. officials and a former U.S. official said.
The daily montage typically runs for about two minutes, sometimes longer, the officials said. One described each daily video as a series of clips of “stuff blowing up.”
The highlight reel of U.S. Central Command bombing Iranian equipment and military sites isn’t the only briefing Trump gets about the war. He’s also updated through conversations with top military and intelligence advisers, foreign leaders and news reports, the officials said.
But the video briefing is fueling concerns among some of Trump’s allies that he may not be receiving — or absorbing — the complete picture of the war, now in its fourth week, two of the current officials and the former official said.
Double ahem. How in the world would NBC expect anyone to believe this? Trump hasn’t hidden himself in the Situation Room or attempted to look “presidential” by avoiding the press. Trump has engaged the media constantly during the entire war, taking questions extemporaneously while discussing all of the latest developments. This week alone, he basically depantsed the Protection Racket Media after they swallowed a claim from Fars that contradicted Trump’s announcement that the Iranians had begun talking about a potential cease-fire. After getting faked out by Iranian regime propagandists, nearly every American media outlet had to reverse course and admit Trump had the story correct, including NBC.
Christian Twiste offers more perspective on this point:
Yup, last week, they claimed killing any enemy’s leadership only prolongs a war. On Monday, the President lied about engaging in talks with Iran. On Tuesday, we should not have talks at all, pretending Iran is the same now as it was before the war.https://t.co/LEROmhfFUL

After that, one would expect that the media might be humbled into at least a consideration that Trump knows more about this than they do. For NBC, however, that is precisely why they have to double down:
They said the videos are also driving Trump’s increasing frustration with news coverage of the war. Trump has pointed to the success depicted in the daily videos to privately question why his administration can’t better influence the public narrative, asking aides why the news media doesn’t emphasize what he’s seeing, one of the current U.S. officials and the former U.S. official said.
And that’s what this story is all about. Trump made the Protection Racket Media look like a bunch of saps. Even worse, it exposed the US media industry as being invested in America’s failure if it also carries an opportunity to damage Trump. Having been exposed as water-carriers for the IRGC, now NBC wants to deflect from that revelation by painting Trump as somehow disengaged, isolated, and uninformed, which might just be the biggest case of projection since Thomas Edison invented the motion-picture industry.
The most stunning part of this new narrative is its transplantation, root and branch, from the actual reality of Joe Biden’s presidency and the media’s role in covering it up. Biden’s senility had become obvious to anyone who watched him in public long before the June 2024 presidential debate on CNN. The Easter Bunny ordered the president off a rope line in April 2022, bodily inserting herself between Biden and reporters to redirect him back to Jill Biden. Biden barely engaged with the media at all, and when he did, he took few questions and responded entirely from prepared notes. He wandered on and off stages, fell repeatedly, got lost while speaking, and all the while, NBC and the rest of the media regurgitated the White House talking points about Biden being “sharp as a tack” and “running rings around aides half his age.” Only after the debate blew up the fraud did reporters begin to offer “now it can be told” stories and books about the supposedly secret decline that Americans could see for years.
Today’s NBC News story isn’t a report. It’s narrative maintenance, and a poor attempt at revenge for being exposed as propagandists for defeatists and TDS sufferers.
Editor’s Note: The mainstream media continues to deflect, gaslight, spin, and lie about President Trump, his administration, and conservatives.
