Tim Walz Getting Gutted and Filleted on Capitol Hill Today – HotAir

The joke is that Democratic presidential candidates always look for a Vice Presidential candidate who is dumber than they are.

Obama chose Biden, Biden chose Harris, and Harris chose…Tim Walz, who might be the least intelligent candidate for national office from a major party in history.

The man is a dolt, as everybody got to see during the presidential campaign. Or, as Tim put it himself, a “knucklehead.”

Harris chose Walz for a few reasons, including his inability to outshine her, but not least because he appeared to be a cunning fraudster, able to loot the treasury without being exposed.

What she and her vetting team, which included, as you recall, Obama’s “wingman” and former Attorney General Eric Holder, did not realize is that Walz’s ability to escape accountability for running a multi-billion dollar fraud scheme was based entirely on the fact that Minnesota’s Pravda Media complex is little more than a stenographer for the Democratic Party.

Many of them knew, or should have known, about the fraud. They just covered it up for him. It wasn’t even hidden—the US Attorney here was busily prosecuting Somali scammers well before Walz was put on the ticket.

Now that the fraud has been revealed to the world, Walz’s political career is in shambles, and he (and Attorney General Ellison) are having to answer tough questions. Ellison is a lawyer and pretty smart, so I expect he will skate.

Walz? Not so much. He may not go to jail, as he should, but he is done done done.

Walz and Ellison are testifying today before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, and Walz, at least, is having a very bad day. Not just because he is as smart as a box of rocks, but also because the man was so deep into the fraud that the best he can do is plead knuckleheadedness.

Walz’s defense boils down to the fact that he is an absentee governor, unaware of what happens in any of his agencies, and completely ignorant of what the budget is for any of the programs that have been looted.

Walz appears to stand by claims that his administration was ordered by a court to continue payments to Feeding Our Future

“The court … issued a statement saying you were wrong in what you were saying,” Jordan says.

“Somebody’s lying, because you can’t say the court ordered you to restart payments, and then the court says we didn’t order you to restart the payments. Either you’re lying or the court’s lying, and I’m just asking you, which one is it?” he continues.

“85% of the people indicted were Somali Americans, a key voting bloc, and I think that’s what drove this whole thing.”

He hasn’t uttered the world “I am a knucklehead sometimes,” but you hear them as he blathers on and on about how nobody told him anything, he doesn’t know anything, and how his Chief of Staff and his commissioners never tell him anything.

Congressional Democrats are in something of a bind because fraud like this is much easier to understand than issues that seem much more abstract. Many of the issues Democrats and Republicans fight about in politics require parsing out the claims, and the media can spin things in a way that favors the Democrats.

Not fraud. It is quite black-and-white and hard to spin.

Democrats want the subject changed, but Walz is not Gavin Newsom. He has no silver tongue. He is, as he says, a “knucklehead.” And he is not some obscure figure; Democrats wanted him to be one heartbeat away from the presidency.

I have to admit that, as a Minnesota resident who has put up with Walz, the Minnesota media, and a fundamentally corrupt Democratic Party here for years, I take some pleasure in watching Walz’s political career get gutted, and also in watching national Democrats scramble to defend the indefensible.

Walz, just two years ago, was seen as a model for how Democrats can win and govern.

Today, he is an object lesson.
