TikTok personality Rachel Tussey dies after tummy tuck surgery in Ohio

An Ohio mother of three and TikTok personality who posted about her “tummy tuck” surgery has died of complications from the procedure, multiple news outlets report.

Rachel Tussey, known on TikTok as “midlifeunmuted,” died Tuesday. Her husband, Jeremy Tussey, said she was administered pain medication after the Feb. 25 surgery and became unresponsive shortly thereafter.

Ms. Tussey, 47, regularly posted videos aimed at supporting other women in their 40s. She shared her plans for her “mommy makeover” before her procedure and posted a quick update the day of her surgery, saying she had a “big range of emotions but mostly excitement and gratitude.”

She underwent the surgery at JourneyLite Surgery Center in Evendale, Ohio. She died at a hospice center after two weeks on life support.

A lawyer representing the family said in a statement to The Enquirer that Ms. Tussey “suffered a permanent anoxic brain injury.” The attorney said there would be no further comment about her death for now and investigations would focus on “the action of every medical professional and other entities, related to Rachel Tussey’s care.”

Her family has started a GoFundMe campaign.
