The AOC-Trump Battle Turns Hilarious

Maybe you’ve noticed that AOC and Trump have been sparring online. This particular battle probably started when AOC joined Rep. Thomas Massie’s effort to keep the US from bombing Iran’s nuclear facilities.

She wasn’t alone in that. The rest of the Squad were all on board the effort too. In any case, she continued banging that same drum and even took a page from Comic Dave Smith by announcing it was grounds for impeachment.

And that led to this lengthy response from President Trump who manages to take shots at AOC, Chuck Schumer, Jasmine Crockett, Ilhan Omar, Joe Biden, Kamala Harris and the Democratic Party.

He closes with, “She and her Democrat friends have just hit the Lowest Poll Numbers in Congressional History, so go ahead and try impeaching me, again, MAKE MY DAY!”

AOC responded by accusing Trump of betraying the Constitution and the American people.

She added:

She was born in the Bronx but as Michael Knowles pointed out, her family moved when she was five to a suburban area called Yorktown Heights where she actually grew up.

AOC also went on the attack against J.D. Vance.

The substance of this is barely worth mentioning. AOC’s claims that the strike on Iran was illegal have been made by many on the left and a few on the right, but every president in the past 30 years has launched airstrikes without congressional authorization, including Obama (Libya) and Biden (Yemen). Nevertheless, here she is trying to sound very serious.

Could AOC and others use this as a pretext for another impeachment push? Of course they could but it’s a given that Democrats wouldn’t be as upset if a Democrat president was doing this. It’s an attempt to generate a negative headline from a compliant media and even most of them aren’t jumping at it.

President Donald Trump’s decision to order strikes in Iran — among the most consequential he has made as commander in chief — is the latest example of a U.S. president’s taking military action without first seeking congressional approval. And experts say that, while his power over American armed forces isn’t absolute, there’s most likely little lawmakers will do.

So that’s going nowhere fast, as Sen. Fetterman pointed out.

What is worth mentioning about all of this are the potential memes we could get out of it. This one in particular is pretty great.

Great stuff. It’s absurd and ridiculous but then so is the effort to impeach Trump for doing what every president left and right has done for decades.
