Pravda Media needs to buy a thesaurus, or the online equivalent, to get away from using the same silly words to describe the natural phenomenon of Republicans opening their mouths to discuss a serious issue.
But perhaps they can’t. Not having looked at an AP Stylebook recently, it is possible that terms like “seize,” “pounce,” and “culture war” may be required to meet the Stylebook’s standards. “Proper” pronoun use is required, which is why so many “news” outlets misgender people in stories, so perhaps these terms are the standard.
BREAKING: “Murder is wrong” is now a “culture war” issue, according to Politico. pic.twitter.com/rXDvgcaLP8

When Christina Pushaw posted this, I immediately went to POLITICO to see their spin on the story, and it is exactly what you would expect. The brutal murder of Iryna Zarutska is very inconvenient and disturbing to them because, well, it gives Republicans an opportunity to say that crime is actually bad, that violent criminals belong in jail, and that our criminal justice system is a mess.
Give it a rest, Republicans, as Governor Pritzker says, crime is just a part of living in a city.
Reporter: “This past weekend, 54 shot, 7 dead. Would you ask your friends to ride the train after midnight?”
JB Pritzker: “Look, big cities have crime. There’s no doubt about it. But let’s just pay attention to what President Trump is doing.” pic.twitter.com/zTRJFkBH7c

POLITICO, which didn’t cover the murder of Zarutska until it became an issue on X, is very upset that people are talking about it now that the videos have been released. What they show is a deranged man, who had been arrested over a dozen times, spontaneously murdering a young woman while her fellow passengers did nothing.
Most of the cases against him were dismissed after he failed to show up for court hearings. The judge in his latest case at least got a written promise to show up to his court hearing, so of course the public was safe.
Judges had released him onto an unsuspecting pubic because “you can’t arrest your way out of crime,” and now the Republicans are whining about public safety as if that is something the government should focus on instead of more important issues–such as pillaging the taxpayers for spending money to paint rainbow crosswalks.
ICYMI🚨: Recent revelations have uncovered that the court clerk at the courthouse responsible for releasing Iryna Zarutska’s killer served as a DEI consultant and racial equity organizer, while the presiding superior judge was honored as DEI Champion of the Year. pic.twitter.com/rsnRIehVjD

Bringing up crime is, of course, nothing short of “seizing” an issue and inciting a culture war. In the midst of a competitive Senate campaign, such issues should be ignored in favor of more important things such as wind and solar power, and of course, the all-important issue of trans rights.
A young refugee from Ukraine who was killed in an apparently random attack in North Carolina is being pulled into America’s culture war.
Crime is just part of living in a big city, after all. Get over it. Oh–and you better live in that big city because Gaia wants you to honor her by living in a 15-minute city and ride the light rail train filled with schizophrenics.
The attack on the 23-year-old Zarutska, who came to the U.S. to escape Russia’s invasion of her country, was captured on security video and has been widely condemned by local officials in North Carolina. The suspect has been taken into custody on a charge of first-degree murder.
In his social media post, the president reiterated his endorsement of former Republican National Committee Chair Michael Whatley in the Senate race, writing that “only Republicans will deliver” on crime and order for North Carolina.
Whatley — who called Trump’s response to the murder “spot on” — has seized on the attack to assail Cooper’s record on crime, falsely suggesting that a 2020 executive order signed by the former governor was responsible for the release of Decarlos Brown Jr., the suspect in Zarutska’s killing, from prison after a five-year sentence for robbery.
Crime used to be an issue that was legitimate for people to talk about, But Trump.

Roy Cooper, North Carolina’s race-obsessed former governor, took over two weeks to make a statement about the vicious attack, and once he did it was as part of a political attack on Trump and his opponent in the race for Senate.
The murder of Iryna Zarutska is a horrible tragedy and we must do everything we can to keep people safe.
Only a cynical DC insider would think it’s acceptable to use her death for political points, especially one who supported cutting funding to law enforcement in NC.

Crime, after all, is a culture war issue according to the left and Pravda Media (but I repeat myself). It is cynical to oppose career criminals murdering innocent people on public transit, which, by the way, everybody should have to ride because Gaia depends on you doing so.
What are a few murders compared to saving Gaia, bigot?

Democrats are falling all over themselves to defend the absolute worst parts of our society. As innocents drop like flies, they point their fingers at Donald Trump for fighting it instead of handing over ever more money to a criminal justice system that refuses to put anyone in jail until the worst happens.
Iryna Zarutska’s killer has a half-brother named Stacey Dejon Brown who shot and killed a White 65-year-old man in the face while he was walking home from work in 2012. He then used the Charlotte light rail system to flee the scene.

Decarlos Brown, Jr.–and, it turns out, his entire family–is a career criminal. His brother is in prison for a vicious murder, and his dad has been in and out of jail for various crimes, but the system ignores the obvious: these are bad seeds who need to be separated from society BEFORE they kill someone.
Hello Governor Cooper,
It is neither cynical nor partisan to ask how your decisions contributed to the environment in which this happened.
In June 2020, you created the Task Force for Racial Equity in Criminal Justice (TREC) through Executive Order 145. That task force issued… pic.twitter.com/49OdFZS3s4

Roy Cooper wants more money for the police. Sounds good, until you realize that the police have been arresting Brown time and again, only to see him released. What, exactly, can they do when the Roy Coopers of the world cry “racism” and let the criminals walk the streets freely?
Democrats want more federal money for police so they can divert local resources to more important things like their pet projects and friendly nonprofits that focus on Democrats getting elected.
If crime is a culture war issue, it is only because the Democrats are unwilling to prosecute and incarcerate criminals. If crime in Blue cities were under control, there would be no culture war issue to fight over.
If Republicans are “pouncing” or “seizing,” it is because there is a big issue to pounce on and seize–one that Democrats have created.
