A 14-year-old boy was arrested in Mount Joy, Pennsylvania, this week, accused of leading cops on a high-speed chase.
Mount Joy Borough Police Department officers responded to reports of a reckless driver on Tuesday and tried to stop the teen. Police have not publicly named the male suspect, as names of juvenile defendants aren’t part of the public record under state law.
As he fled in the car, the driver went onto a sidewalk, drove into the direction of oncoming traffic and blew past a stop sign, police said in a release Wednesday.
In addition, the car was being driven without the consent of its owner. Police didn’t specify whether the vehicle was stolen or if it belonged to someone connected to the teen.
Police also didn’t report any injuries to pedestrians or other drivers as a result of the incident.
The Harrisburg teen is charged with reckless driving, reckless endangerment of another person, fleeing police, disregarding traffic lanes, ignoring a stop sign, using a motor vehicle without authorization and driving without a license.
