Man arrested on suspicion of riding electric unicycle while drunk in Washington state

A man was arrested by the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office in Washington state after being accused of riding an electric unicycle while drunk.

Deputies spotted the man riding the vehicle erratically early Saturday in Port Orchard, about 60 miles southwest of Seattle, the sheriff’s office explained in a video posted Tuesday on social media.

The deputies initiated a traffic stop, and the man stopped briefly before taking off again.

Deputies later found the 34-year-old man without the unicycle, which was in a nearby ravine. The responding officers noticed the smell of alcohol.

Since the unicycle can go as fast as 45 mph, riding it while intoxicated in the street is a criminal offense.

The man, whom the sheriff’s office did not publicly identify, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence with an alleged blood alcohol content more than twice the legal limit, which is .08 gram of alcohol per milliliter of blood.
