India told various countries that it would retaliate if Pakistan escalates the conflict.
On Wednesday, Indian National Security Adviser Ajit Doval informed international counterparts that his country has no intention of escalating following this week’s Operation Sindoor but is prepared to “retaliate resolutely” if Pakistan attacks.
Mr. Doval also provided security officials in France, Russia, China, Japan, the U.K. and the U.S. with details on Operation Sindoor, including the “method of execution,” which he said was “measured, nonescalatory and restrained.”
He also informed global security leaders of the terror networks embedded in Pakistan and Pakistani Kashmir that necessitated the operation.
Indian missiles struck at six cities in Pakistan and Kashmir on Wednesday, Pakistan’s military reported. The strikes reportedly killed at least 26 people, including a 3-year-old child.
The attacks targeted nine terror camps inside Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Pakistan proper, India’s military said.

The bombing comes two weeks after the deadly terror raid on Pahalgam in Indian-administered Kashmir. While Islamabad denied any involvement in the attack, which killed 26 people, India blamed armed groups allegedly backed by Pakistan.
Also Wednesday, Pakistan’s military said it shot down Indian fighter jets, with at least two planes crashing into villages in Indian-controlled Kashmir. Indian security forces said the Pakistanis also shelled Indian territory, killing at least seven civilians.
