A motel manager was beheaded by an illegal immigrant who was working for him at a Dallas motel. The gruesome murder took place Wednesday after the manager told the migrant not to use a broken washing machine.
The horrific scene unfolded Wednesday morning, after [Chandra] Nagamallaiah — whom NBC Dallas-Fort Worth identified as the manager of a motel northeast of downtown Dallas — instructed [Yordanis] Cobos-Martinez not to use a broken washing machine, according to the affidavit.
Cobos-Martinez and a woman were cleaning a room at the time, the affidavit says.
Cobos-Martinez became upset because Nagamallaiah didn’t speak to him directly and instead relied on the woman for translation, according to the affidavit.
The affidavit cited video that it said captured Cobos-Martinez leaving the motel room, producing a machete and repeatedly cutting and stabbing Nagamallaiah.
Screaming, Nagamallaiah fled to the motel’s front office, but Cobos-Martinez followed and continued to cut him, according to the affidavit. At one point, the victim’s wife and son tried to stop Cobos-Martinez, but he pushed them away and continued assaulting Nagamallaiah, the affidavit says.
Cobos-Martinez removed a key card and a cellphone from Nagamallaiah’s pockets and continued cutting the victim “until his head was removed from his body,” according to the affidavit.
After beheading the man, Cobos-Martinez kicked his head into the street and then picked it up and put it in a dumpster. Cobos-Martinez was arrested soon after and apparently confessed to the crime. He still had the machete used in the attack and was covered in the victim’s blood so denials probably wouldn’t have mattered.
He had a past history of violent crimes in this country, starting with an attempted carjacking (while naked):
Court records show Cobos-Martinez has a violent history stretching back years. In 2017, he was arrested in South Lake Tahoe, California, after attempting to carjack a 22-year-old woman while naked, according to KRNV.
Police said he tried to drag the woman from her car, climbed inside with her still there, and attempted to steal it before bystanders pulled him out. He was charged with carjacking and false imprisonment, booked into the El Dorado County Jail, and later released on bail.
The victim in the California case told WFAA that he showed up for one of the court dates and then fled.
The following year, he was arrested in Harris County on indecency with a child charges. That charge was dismissed due to insufficient evidence, said Stephen Touchstone, an attorney who represented him in the case. Touchstone also said no immigration hold was placed on Cabos-Martinez during his time in the Harris County Jail.
A few months later, he was charged with aggravated assault after he was accused of breaking a jailer’s jaw during a fight…
A jury acquitted him of carjacking but convicted him of false imprisonment. He was placed on probation in August 2023, but prosecutors say he absconded, and a violation order was issued in late 2023.
The victim in the carjacking case believes the Dallas murder could have been avoided if her case had been handled differently. “What he’s done and he’s continued to do, no moral compass in his body,” she said. She added, “I think he’s a horrific human being.”
Why was Cobos-Martinez on the streets? He was in an ICE detention facility in January of this year. However, Cuba does not accept deportations from the US. So one week before Biden left office, Cobos-Martinez was released.
The agency said he had been held at the Bluebonnet Detention Center in Anson until January 13, when he was released under supervision because there were “no removal flights to Cuba.”
But WFAA found government videos and news coverage showing deportation flights had resumed in 2023.
After WFAA requested clarification, ICE said Cobos-Martinez was under a “past Final Order of Removal to Cuba. “This barbaric criminal was released because Cuba would not accept him because of his criminal history,” the statement said.
Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security Tricia McLaughlin said in a statement that cases like Cobos-Martinez are why the Trump Administration was “removing criminal illegal alients to third countries,” such as Uganda and South Sudan.
Even progressive congressman Ro Khanna thinks this guy should have been taken off American streets long ago.
The brutal beheading of a hardworking Indian American immigrant in front of his wife & son is horrific. The murderer had multiple prior arrests for violent theft & child endangerment & was undocumented. He should not have been free on American streets. https://t.co/7LDNITCd9Y

He’s taking a lot of heat for saying that in the responses to that tweet. Some people on the left don’t want anyone deported, no matter how many violent crimes they commit here.
Editor’s Note: Thanks to President Trump, illegal immigration into our great country has virtually stopped. Despite the radical left’s lies, new legislation wasn’t needed to secure our border, just a new president.
