Don’t expect to see too many of these scenes in the Protection Racket Media’s coverage of the “mostly lawful” riots in Los Angeles. Having pro-Hamas agitators commit attempted mass murder on Los Angeles police officers kinda harshes the Leftist storyline, no?
There is no other way to describe this activity than an insurrection at this point. Although, it’s tough to commit an insurrection against a government that has done everything in its power to surrender to the violent radicals out of loathing for the current administration in Washington:

This isn’t about deportations alone, or even primarily. What we are seeing in Los Angeles is an uprising by the violent Left under all its banners of la revolucion, enabled and encouraged by city and state leadership that has proven over and over again to be unfit for purpose. Karen Bass put in motion the events that would turn a bad windstorm into a wildfire that destroyed large parts of the city while denying it the resources to save them, and now won’t lift a finger to help those victims rebuild. And now Bass wants the rest of the city to burn as well, as Mickey Kaus aptly pointed out (via Instapundit):

But it’s not just Bass. It’s not just Gavin Newsom, who also had the authority to call out the National Guard on his own terms to restore order and failed to act. Apparently, every Democrat governor in America sides with the rioters and violent agitators, including those on the bridge attempting to murder LAPD officers trying to restore order. Newsom tweeted out a statement from the Democratic Governors Association condemning Donald Trump for using the National Guard to protect federal law enforcement officers:

To answer Bree’s question: It certainly seems that way, and it seemed that way in 2020 as well, where the radical Left set fires to cities across the country and seized “autonomous zones” in explicit acts of insurrection. In blue states like Minnesota, Oregon, and Washington, those seizures went on for weeks without any action from Democrat-run governments, consigning the citizens within those zones to lawless servitude. In Minnesota, it took Tim Walz two days of rioting before calling in the National Guard and then another three days of rioting before he allowed them to act, by which time the core of Minneapolis’ Lake Street district was burned out and thousands of businesses looted.
Democrats have become the Party Of Riots. Newsom actually arranged it so that they could side with rioters intent on obstruction and battery of federal law enforcement, even in the middle of the rioting. Democrats never met a riot that they didn’t defend, at least in part, as “retributive justice” of some kind. And in this case, House Democrats set the tone and the example a month ago in New Jersey:

McIver et al sent out a signal to the radical Left by attempting to obstruct and assault an ICE facility in Newark. That message got received loudly and clearly in Los Angeles, amplified by Karen Bass while Gavin Newsom shrugged. And now every Democrat governor in America just told the cities in their jurisdiction that it’s open season on ICE officers, too.
Makes a fellow proud to be a Texan these days. And it explains why more Americans choose to be Texans and Floridians rather than Californians and Minnesotans, too.
