Donald Trump kicks off Memorial Day with a smackdown of his perceived political foes

President Trump celebrated Memorial Day with an all-caps criticism of the “SCUM,” his “INCOMPETENT” predecessor and “USA HATING JUDGES” who he blames for making it easier for illegal immigrants to enter the country and more complicated to kick them out.

As Americans prepared to honor and mourn more than 1 million men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for the United States, Mr. Trump kicked off the morning with a social media smackdown.

“Happy Memorial Day to all, including the scum that spent the last four years trying to destroy our country through warped radical left minds, who allowed 21,000,000 million people to illegally enter our country, many of them being criminals and the mentally insane, through an open border that only an incompetent president would approve, and through judges who are on a mission to keep murderers, drug dealers, rapists, gang members, and released prisoners from all over the world, in our country so they can rob, murder, and rape again — all protected by these USA hating judges who suffer from an ideology that is sick, and very dangerous for our country,” Mr. Trump said in capital letters on on Truth Social.

Mr. Trump is scheduled to deliver remarks and participate in a wreath-laying ceremony at 11 a.m. at Arlington National Cemetery.

In his social media post, Mr. Trump said he hopes the “United States Supreme Court, and other good and compassionate judges throughout the land, will save us from the decisions of the monsters who want our country to go to hell.”

“But fear not, we have made great progress over the last 4 months, and America will soon be safe and great again!” he said.

Mr. Trump has grown increasingly frustrated with the judges who have held up some of his deportation efforts, often citing the due process rights of the individuals swept up in the push.

On Saturday, the White House also issued a proclamation declaring Memorial Day a day of prayer for permanent peace and requested that American flags be flown at half-staff in honor of the fallen.

“Memorial Day is a sacred day of remembrance, reverence, and gratitude for the brave patriots who have laid down their lives in service to our great Nation,” the proclamation said.

Mr. Trump has taken credit for rebuilding the U.S. military and scrapping “woke” policies that he said undermined its strength.

He has also taken pride in staying out of foreign wars.

According to the Department of Veterans Affairs, 31 of the nation’s 45 presidents have served in the U.S. armed forces.

Mr. Trump received five deferments — four educational and one medical for bone spurs — that kept him from serving in the Vietnam War.
