Democrat Confirms That His Party Will Impeach Trump If They Take the House – PJ Media

For months, Democrats and their media allies have brushed off Republican warnings about another impeachment push against President Donald Trump. Any attempts to file articles of impeachment have been downplayed and dismissed as not reflective of where the party is at. Democrat leadership doesn’t want the public to know that impeaching Trump (again) is part of their agenda if they win the majority. But an influential House Democrat just let the cat out of the bag.

During a recent segment of The Briefing with Jen Psaki on MSNOW, guest host Ali Veshi didn’t exactly tiptoe around the subject. He asked Rep. Ro Khanna (D-Calif.) about it point-blank, framing impeachment as a near certainty if Democrats regain power.

“If Democrats win the House and, and possibly the Senate in November, there’s a better than even chance Donald Trump gets impeached again,” he said.

The obvious implication here, based on the question, is that the base of the party wants to impeach Trump. If this were really just a fringe idea, the question wouldn’t have been asked. But Veshi asked it, and Khanna didn’t dismiss the question or offer some boilerplate line about how Democrats are focused on delivering for the American people, blah, blah, blah… No, he made it very clear what his party’s intentions are.

“Absolutely,” he said. “He should be impeached now. I mean, he’s taken us into a disastrous war, threatening war crimes in Iran, uh, in terms of the knocking out plants and, uh, knocking out electricity. Uh, and the Democrats will impeach him once we take back the House, and should impeach him for all the things he’s done.”

There it is. Not speculation. Not spin. A sitting Democrat congressman openly declared that impeachment is already baked into the party’s agenda if they regain the majority.

Notice the framing.

Khanna isn’t talking about some future revelation or new evidence that might justify such a move. In his view, Trump has already committed an impeachable offense. It may be an imaginary offense, but since when does that matter? Democrats impeached him twice before over imaginary offenses, so why would things change? Clearly, the only thing stopping Democrats from impeaching Trump again is the current balance of power.

And Khanna went even further, dangling the possibility of conviction if Democrats can stack the Senate. “And depending on the Senate, he may, uh, face conviction if we get the 60.”

It actually takes 67 votes in the Senate to convict, which will never happen.

Democrats have abused the power of impeachment twice already, and they have no intention of stopping. Democrats aren’t presenting impeachment as a last resort tied to a clear, bipartisan consensus or an actual crime. They’re treating it as a default action the moment they regain control. Win the House, start impeachment, if for no other reason than to say they did it and to keep their radical base happy.

Many of us have been saying that Democrats will impeach Trump the moment they get the chance. It’s no longer conjecture. Ro Khanna admitted this is the plan if Democrats win.
