Charlotte’s Web – Guess What City Has a Mayoral Primary Today? – HotAir

As if there weren’t enough reasons to despise the Charlotte City Council, led by the city’s revolting long-term mayor, Vi Lyles, in the wake of the mendacious and callous skullduggery they have orchestrated since the horrific attack of 22 August, I want to lay additional fodder for loathing these detestable ‘public servants’ even more on you – particularly the craven woke disaster that is the mayor.

Vi Lyles has been the mayor of Charlotte since 2017, and the voters of that city should be ashamed of themselves – ashamed.

What happened to Iryna Zarutska in that CATS light rail car was not a one-off, by any stretch of the imagination, according to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police.

Not a one-off. Not an obscure occurrence. Not an isolated incident.

But life in Charlotte as it is.

This is an elected official, the Chief Executive Officer of the city, who has instead spent her time and energy with a radical city council – where members call the police ‘terrorists’ – and who has focused her energies on virtue-signaling social justice programs and grievance politics vice making life for city residents safe and affordable.

Once you understand what kind of ideologue Vi Lyles is, much in the Karen Bass mold, you will then understand how such a woman could be so mercilessly insensitive to the ghastly end of an innocent human being that she was incapable of even mentioning the victim’s name as she rushed to urge ‘compassion’ for the brutal savage who’d jammed a pocketknife into that unsuspecting slender neck at least three times.

On Sunday, I wrote about the murder of Iryna Zarutska and how the rest of the country had never heard her name. We only learned of it weeks after the fact, thanks to the release of the railcar security tapes. The horror revealed in those is so graphically gruesome and so appalling that they couldn’t be kept under wraps, which is exactly what the Charlotte City Council and Mayor Lyles had tried to do by actively working to prevent their release at all.

In the comments, I’d postulated that this group of self-interested incompetents had thrown themselves in between the truth and the public to save the city government’s image, along with their own.

They’re not happy. They’re panicking. Because as long as their black constituents stick to killing and preying on each other, they can ignore it and call anyone who points to the ongoing, unending carnage a ‘RACIST.’

But the second their homegrown predatory class steps out of its lane and calls attention to what the ruling classes are actually NOT DOING, well. That’s a whole different ball of wax.

I’m here to tell you, it’s much more base than that – much more calculated.

What a disgusting, ruthless, noxious scheme to cook up to save the mayor’s political hide.

Today is – SURPRISE! – Charlotte’s mayoral election day.

Can’t have that young woman’s blood dripping off the psycho’s knife onto the floor tiles as he wanders through the railcar ruining the mayor’s continued reign in the Queen City, can we?

HOLD THAT FOOTAGE OUT OF ‘RESPECT’ FOR MAYOR LYLES’ REELECTION CHANCES

When a progressive starts lecturing you about your lack of compassion and respect, start digging for why. The truth usually has to do with their self-preservation and is invariably ugly.

BUT WAIT – THERE’S MORE!

It gets worse, and a couple more reasons to vote this creature out of office TODAY.

I was right that they were in a panic, and not only because of the election, but thanks to what they stand to lose and possibly lose control of.

Part of it is federal scrutiny. Trump admin eyeballs are trained on them like lasers.

The murder of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on the Charlotte Metro last month has sparked federal attention from FBI Director Kash Patel and Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, who say the case is under federal investigation and will have implications far beyond North Carolina.

…”If mayors can’t keep their trains and buses safe, they don’t deserve the taxpayers’ money,” Duffy said in a statement. “@USDOT will be investigating Charlotte over its failure to protect Iryna Zarutska. And we will also be looking at other crime-ridden cities across the country.”

…Duffy went further, suggesting that federal transportation funding is at risk for cities that don’t work to curb violence on public transit.

I’ll bet Lyles and her fellow sneks broke out in a cold sweat.

But it turns out there is much more filthy lucre on the line that’s much closer to home.

The first clue was this Xweet.

WAIT, WHUT?

Well, hello, Charlotte City Council!

Besides stopping the council meeting for an hour to celebrate a birthday with cake and everything, when they reconvened, the members all took turns sweating how their unsuccessful efforts to block the videos were going to affect voters’ opinions of the Charlotte light rail system. It would be awful if they soured on it, as there was a measure on the ballot for approval of a 1% city tax increase specifically for a light rail expansion that is predicted to bring in over $25 BILLION – that’s with a ‘B’ – for this same group of incompetent woke poltroons to play with.

They sure didn’t want voters thinking badly of the CATS rail system right before a payoff like that…dammit

You can almost hear ‘Whud she hafta die for and mess everything up‘ in their frantic discussions and recalculation of what I guess they thought they had in the bag.

And it tells you precisely how craven, incompetent, and calculating they are that they are only now wondering among themselves what the effect of ‘continued crime’ means for ridership and voters.

Good Lord.

Vote Vi Lyles out today – TODAY.

Vote her OUT

The challengers, all Democrats, include Brendan MaGinnis, Sydney Acute McDaniel, Delter Guin, and Gemini Boyd.

They have united in their opposition to the sales tax increase, which is intended to fund improvements in the city’s transit system. Additionally, they have voiced concerns about Mayor Lyles’ leadership and the current trajectory of Charlotte’s development.

I’d hope to you-know-who they have ‘concerns.’

The long-shot Republican candidate is the lone one, so she isn’t on the ballot until November. Judging by the number of X followers she has, she could use a lot of help.

…There is a primary election happening now in Mecklenburg County. The last day to vote is today (Tuesday). The current Mayor Vi has 4 other Democrats running against her in the primary! We will know tonight who wins that primary and who will be on the ballot with me in November (I am the only Republican).

The last GOP mayor of Charlotte served something like eight terms, and the city was thriving.

They can start making better choices today.
