Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos recently sold a Seattle-area mansion for $63 million, setting a new record for the priciest home sale in Washington state history.
Mr. Bezos and fiancé Lauren Sanchez moved from the Seattle area to Miami in 2023. The 9,420-square-foot home in Hunts Point, Washington, was part of a portfolio of luxury estates he owned, according to the Puget Sound Business Journal, and was bought by Cayan Investments LLC.
The house had previously set the Washington state sales price record in 2019 when it was sold to Mr. Bezos for $37.5 million.
It was first built for the late cruise line magnate, Build-a-Bear Workshop investor and art collector Barney Ebsworth, in 2003. Mr. Bezos still has at least three other homes in the Seattle area, according to the luxury lifestyle magazine Robb Report.
“I’ve lived in Seattle longer than I’ve lived anywhere else and have so many amazing memories here. As exciting as the move is, it’s an emotional decision for me. Seattle, you will always have a piece of my heart,” Mr. Bezos said in a 2023 Instagram post.
In addition to his remaining real estate, Amazon’s corporate headquarters are still located in Seattle.
