Legendary action star and former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger issued a response to the recent assassination of conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk, saying a “human life is gone.” It’s refreshing to see someone with this level of clout in the entertainment industry not slam or criticize Kirk, but instead focus on the devastating loss of a good man to his family and country.
Schwarzenegger, in a conversation with University of Southern California Interim President Beong-Soo Kim, described Kirk as a “great father” and a “great husband.” He also referred to the slain activist as a “great advocate” for conservative values and causes.
“I was very, very upset that someone’s life was taken because they have a different opinion,” Schwarzenegger said during the question and answer session with students. “I mean, it’s just unbelievable. I mean, this was a great communicator, a great advocate for the right, for Republican causes.”
He pointed out how Kirk had “such a great way of communicating” with young people, particularly college students, whether they agreed or disagreed with his stance on the issues.

“And, I just thought, it’s a human being. A human life is gone. He was a great father, a great husband. I was thinking about his children — they will only be reading about him now, instead of him reading to them, bedtime stories,” the star of The Terminator continued.
USC President Kim asked me for my thoughts about Charlie Kirk at USC’s Democracy Day celebration.
There’s something more important than my message in this video. It’s what you don’t hear. No heckling. No disrespect. No shouting.

He then discussed how there have been an “endless amount of debates” since Kirk’s assassination about how to stop the spread of political violence.
“We have to acknowledge that the cause of all of this is the social media companies that are dividing us,” Schwarzenegger explained. “The mainstream media companies that are dividing us. The political parties, the Democrats that are dividing us. The Republicans that are dividing us. So, we’re getting hit from so many different angles.”
It appears that there are some within the entertainment industry who are starting to experience some kind of awakening. The egregious violence and aggression from their own side of the political spectrum is opening their eyes.
Schwarzenegger’s son-in-law, actor Chris Pratt, who issued a statement condemning the assassination of Kirk. Pratt is an outspoken Christian who, despite not coming out and saying it, tends to lean to the right on various topics that he speaks out about. Pratt, best known for his roles in Guardians of the Galaxy and The Terminal List, is also a huge supporter of veterans and causes related to those who have served in the U.S. armed forces.
Perhaps there is still hope for Hollywood after all.
