All six Oscar Mayer Wienermobiles will race each other at Indianapolis Motor Speedway in the “Wienie 500,” parent company Kraft Heinz announced Tuesday.
The race will be streamed at 2 p.m. EDT Friday live on the Fox Sports app and on @INDYCARonFOX social media account, Fox Sports said.
Fans will also be able to catch highlights from the “Wienie 500” during the pre-race show for the Indianapolis 500, which starts at 10 a.m. EDT Sunday. The Indy 500 will be run on the speedway starting at 12:45 p.m.
The six Wienermobiles competing represent different U.S. regions: the “Chi Dog” for the Midwest, the “New York” dog for the East, the “Slaw Dog” for the Southeast, the “Sonoran Dog” for the Southwest, the “Seattle Dog” for the Northwest and the “Chili Dog” for the South, Kraft Heinz said.
Each vehicle will have its own distinct look and will be operated by the Oscar Mayer “Hotdoggers” that drive them around the country to promotional events. The race will also be the first meetup in a decade between all six Wienermobiles at a single location.
Users of the DraftKings gambling app will be able to enter a free contest pool to predict which Wienermobile will win. The contest has $10,000 in total prizes, according to the gambling app’s website.
