President Trump kept people on edge Tuesday about how far he’s willing to go to obtain Greenland.
“You’ll find out,” he told reporters.
European leaders are reacting furiously against his plan to obtain Greenland.
The president says the Arctic island is critical to U.S. security and will use meetings this week at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, to work something out.
He also recently said he no longer has to think solely of peace after his Nobel Prize snub, telling the Norwegian prime minister he’s concerned only with American interests.
Mr. Trump said Tuesday he “lost a lot of respect for Norway” after his peace prize snub last year, since the Nordic country’s Nobel Committee selects its recipients.
Beyond that, Mr. Trump said European leaders, such as British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron, who’ve criticized his Greenland stance, are two-faced about their support for him.
“I think I get along very well with them. When I’m around them, they treat me very nicely,” he said.
Mr. Trump also said he would rely on other tariffs if the Supreme Court rules against the main tariff authorities he’s using to pressure Europe on Greenland.
