Federal health officials are urging consumers to stop using certain Live it Up Super Greens products after the manufacturer announced a nationwide recall tied to a salmonella outbreak that has sickened dozens of people.
Superfoods Inc., which sells the powdered dietary supplement under the Live it Up brand, said it is recalling all Super Greens Original and Wild Berry products with lot codes beginning with the letter “A,” as well as all stick pack versions, due to possible contamination.
The Food and Drug Administration said the recall is linked to 45 reported illnesses and 12 hospitalizations across the United States. The outbreak remains under investigation.
Salmonella infection can cause fever, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting and abdominal pain. The illness can be particularly dangerous for young children, elderly adults and people with weakened immune systems.
Live it Up Super Greens is marketed as an all-natural greens powder designed to deliver the nutritional equivalent of multiple servings of vegetables in a single scoop. The product has been sold through the company’s direct-to-consumer website since January 2025 and on Amazon since July 30, 2025. It is promoted as vegan, sugar-free and free of artificial sweeteners.
According to the company’s website, Super Greens contains more than 20 plant-based ingredients, including chlorella, spirulina, kale, broccoli and barley grass, along with digestive enzymes and probiotics. Customer reviews featured on the site frequently describe daily use and report increased energy, improved digestion and overall wellness.
Federal health officials emphasized that the recall is based solely on public health concerns and is unrelated to marketing claims or consumer ratings.

The recall applies to the following products:

Affected products have expiration dates ranging from August 2026 through January 2028, with lot codes printed on the back of the packaging.

Consumers who purchased the recalled products are advised to stop using them immediately and dispose of them. Superfoods Inc. said customers may request a refund by contacting the company at recall@artofenso.com and providing their name, order number and a photo of the affected product.
The company said production of Super Greens has been suspended while it works with the FDA to determine the source of the contamination. No other Live it Up products are included in the recall at this time.
Health officials recommend that anyone who has consumed the recalled supplement and experiences symptoms consistent with salmonella infection seek medical attention. For additional information, see the FDA’s official advisory.
