Linda Stevenson, wife of Jill Biden’s first husband, found dead after domestic dispute call

Linda Stevenson, the wife of former first lady Jill Biden’s ex-husband Bill Stevenson, was found dead in her home in Delaware on Sunday after police responded to a report of a domestic dispute.

The New Castle County Division of Police responded to a call from the Oak Hill community in Wilmington at about 11:16 p.m. Officers found Ms. Stevenson, 64, unresponsive in the living room, according to a press release. Officers attempted lifesaving measures, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The cause and manner of death are unknown. Ms. Stevenson’s body was turned over to the Delaware Division of Forensic Science for an autopsy.

Dispatch audio obtained by TMZ indicated that the initial medical emergency was reported as a cardiac arrest.

Detectives from the division’s Criminal Investigations Unit are investigating, and no charges have been filed.

Authorities have not confirmed whether Mr. Stevenson was present when officers arrived.

The Stevensons had been married for nearly four decades.

Ms. Biden, nee Jacobs, and Mr. Stevenson married in 1970, married in 1970 and divorced in 1975. She married then-Sen. Joseph R. Biden in 1977.
