Is Tucker Carlson “fringe?” It would be hard to claim that he is. He has been a journalist for decades, and one of the most recognizable and popular ones at that.
Yet he is now slyly promoting one of the most ridiculous and fringe conspiracy theories known to mankind, and one that is contradicted by so much evidence that it rivals Candace Owens’ “Charlie Kirk was assassinated by his friends” conspiracy theory.
It’s bats**t crazy.
The following clip is long, and Tucker makes his accusation that Israel was involved in 9/11 at the very end, but I still encourage you to listen to the entire thing.
The conspiracy logic goes like this:
Jews are blamed when Islamists get stereotyped as terrorists…

First of all, he completely distorts the meaning of the poll he began talking about, suggesting that the TPUSA’s audience calling Israel an ally and radical Islam the #1 security threat means that they believe that radical Islam is the most important issue to address.
National security threat obviously refers to external threats. Tucker focuses on OnlyFans. OnlyFans and affordability may be big problems, but nobody talks about them as a national security threat.
I can tell you why they haven’t released the complete 9/11 files. It’s simple: members of the Saudi Royal family and Qatar funded the operation because they are radical Islamist terrorist, and we need both countries as bulwarks against Iran. It’s the same reason why we have such complicated relations with Pakistan—the countries are ideologically divided, useful geopolitically, and we can’t afford to make them enemies.
It is NOT because of Israel. Quite the opposite.
Tucker has glommed onto Israel as the all-purpose explanation for what is wrong with the world. And, weirdly, he is now defending even Sharia law as a positive force for good.

One could still argue that, in a sense, Tucker is still “conservative,” but only in the sense that a man who wants to return to feudalism and religious rule might be called a “conservative.” He certainly has nothing to do with American conservatism.

He has staked out as anti-American a position as any “decolonialist” on the left. He just wants a different kind of regime to replace the American republic than leftists do. His ideal vision accords more to pre-liberal absolutism (feudalism) and religious rule (a Christian version of Sharia law), while theirs is a version of racialist communism.
Ironically, both ends of the ideological spectrum have identified the same group of enemies: Jews and Christian Zionists.
Tucker went to TPUSA’s AmericaFest and basically told the audience they are completely wrong about loving America, supporting Israel, and opposing authoritarianism.
We saw inklings of this transformation of Tucker back when he went to Russia. I had no problem at all with his interview with Putin, aside from his unwillingness to push him harder to answer important questions. Journalists SHOULD go and interview bad people and let them tell us what they think.
But his celebration of Russia after the interview? It was insane and totally distorted reality. Food isn’t cheap in Russia, except in nominal terms. It costs the average Russian about 40% of their income to buy food; the same figure in America is less than 10%. It’s not even in the same universe. Sure, buy food in dollars, and it’s cheap. Try buying it in rubles from your salary.
Tucker has now gone to the next step: suggesting that Israel is not just a liability for the US, but actively our enemy, committing terrorist attacks on the homeland itself. The fact that we know who flew the planes, that al Qaeda was proud of attacking us, that Muslims celebrated it…none of that matters. All that was an Israeli psyop abetted by the Bush administration.
