District police are looking for a suspect accused of knocking a woman out at a Metrorail station on the night of Halloween.
The victim, whom the Metropolitan Police Department did not identify, was exiting a train at Archives-Navy Memorial-Penn Quarter station with her friends at about 12:25 a.m. Saturday when another group approached.
The second group mocked the costumes worn by the victim and her friends, then one of the approaching people attacked, police said.
The suspect hit the victim in the head from behind multiple times, knocking her unconscious, police said. The suspect then left the scene while the victim was taken to a hospital for her non-life-threatening injuries.
The Metropolitan Police Department did not describe the suspect, but provided an image caught by surveillance cameras showing what appears to be a woman wearing a black jacket with brown hair and face paint.
The department is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect.
