Tow truck carjacked by rock-wielding suspect in D.C.

The Metropolitan Police Department is looking for a man they say brandished a rock at a tow truck driver and stole the vehicle in Northwest D.C. this week.

The victim was in the area of Missouri Avenue and Kennedy Street NW at around 8:40 p.m. Wednesday when the suspect approached the truck, police told Washington’s WUSA.

The suspect, last seen wearing a black ski mask and a gray shirt, held the rock as he threatened the driver before pulling the victim from the Black Ram 4500 Alpha tow truck, getting in and driving off, police said, according to D.C.’s WJLA-TV.

The truck has District plates with the number C83441, reported WJLA.

Anyone with information on the incident should call 202-727-9099 or text the police tip line at 50411.
