Police in the Detroit suburbs said a gunman shot and wounded a person Sunday in the middle of a church service before a security guard fatally shot the assailant.
Authorities in Wayne, Michigan, said the victim was shot in the leg after an armed suspect took aim at the Crosspointe Community Church around 11 a.m.
Pastor Bobby Kelly Jr. told the Detroit News that a congregant ran over the suspect with his car so the security guard had enough time to fire the lethal shot.
The clergyman also said the security guard was the person shot in the leg.
Mr. Kelly said about 150 people were attending the service when bullets started flying.
