Donald Trump blasts Fox News, says ‘crooked’ network’s polling is ‘incompetent’

President Trump lashed out at Fox News Thursday after its latest polling showed that 54% of Americans disapprove of his job performance.

Mr. Trump said his Make America Great Again movement “hates” the TV network, despite the president picking a slew of its personalities for key positions in his administration. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Deputy FBI Director Dan Bongino and interim U.S. Attorney for Washington Jeanine Pirro are among the former Fox hosts working for Mr. Trump

In a Truth Social post, the president reaired his grievances from the 2020 election, when Fox News faced criticism from Trump supporters for calling some states and the election for then-candidate Joseph R. Biden much earlier than other media outlets. Back then, Mr. Trump said Fox got the 2020 election results wrong.

“The crooked Fox News Polls got the election wrong. I won by much more than they said I would and have been biased against me for years. They are always wrong and negative. It’s why MAGA HATES Fox News, even though their anchors are GREAT,” Mr. Trump wrote.

“This has gone on for years, but they never change the incompetent polling company that does their work. Now a new Fox News poll comes out this morning giving me little more than 50% at the border and yet the border is miraculously perfect. Nobody was able to come in last month. 6,000 people came in with Sleepy Joe in the same month last year. I hate FAKE pollsters, one of the worst, but Fox will never change their discredited pollster!”

The Washington Times has reached out to Fox News for comment.

Fox News polls are conducted under the direction of the Democratic-leaning Beacon Research and the Republican-slanted Shaw & Co.

The Fox News poll released Thursday found that 46% approve of Mr. Trump’s job performance versus the 54% down on it. It also revealed that 53% of voters approve of his border policies compared with 46% against.

Mr. Trump received his poorest marks on inflation and the economy. The poll found that 64% don’t like his handling of inflation versus 34% who approve. On the economy, 58% disapprove and 40% don’t.

Thursday isn’t the first time Mr. Trump has gone after Fox News despite its slate of Trump-friendly opinion hosts. In April, the network released a poll showing 44% approved of his job performance and 55% disapproved.

At the time, he said Fox News’ polls have consistently been wrong about him and other MAGA candidates.
