Former MLB All-Star Zack Cozart isn’t shy in his support for President Trump. That could change if the Republican sends troops to intervene in the conflict between Israel and Iran, the retired shortstop said.
“If Trump gets us in a war I will no longer support him,” Cozart posted Monday on X. “And I’m sure most of you know I love Trump.”
Moments later, Cozart shared a post referring to himself and other Republican voters as “salty” over a perceived priority of international relations over domestic affairs.
A lot can change in a year.
In July, the former Cincinnati Red threw his support behind Mr. Trump ahead of the presidential election.
“I dunno bout yall but I can’t wait to vote for Trump,” Cozart wrote. “I’ve honestly never seen the party as united as now. … They tried to kill our President.”
The president left the Group of Seven summit in Canada early Monday to “attend to many important matters,” White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said.
Mr. Trump later encouraged residents to evacuate the Iranian capital of Tehran, noting that he wants “an end” to the fighting: “A real end, not a ceasefire.”
“I’m not too much in the mood to negotiate,” he said.
