The far left extremists said it would never be built but it held a ribbon cutting ceremony last month. And now the Atlanta Police Training Center, which extremists called “Cop City” is graduating its first group of fire department recruits.
The Atlanta Public Safety Training Center is hosting its first-ever graduation ceremony on Monday.
The Atlanta Fire Rescue Department is graduating its newest recruits from Class 2024-01 during a formal ceremony at 6 p.m.
“This milestone marks the culmination of months of rigorous training in structural fire suppression, advanced emergency medical care, and hazardous materials operations,” the department said. “These men and women now stand among Georgia’s certified firefighters and advanced emergency medical technicians—prepared to answer the call in times of crisis.”
The left really threw everything they had at this site, from vandalism to arson to accusing police of murder. They vowed repeatedly “If you build it, we will burn it” and the pithier “Cop City will never be built.” But it got built and three weeks ago it opened for business.
After years of controversies and legal battles, Atlanta’s Public Safety Training Center opened on Tuesday.
Officials commemorated the opening with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the 85-acre, $115-million facility in DeKalb County that critics have dubbed “Cop City.”…
The massive hub includes horse stables, a K-9 center, a driving course, and a six-story rescue tower.
“It is a gamechanger for the City of Atlanta,” said Dave Wilkinson, president and CEO of the Atlanta Police Foundation…
“It is the Atlanta Public Safety Training Center that will ensure that we recruit, equip, and train the officers and firefighters necessary to keep the city safe,” said Atlanta Police Chief Darin Schierbaum.
Opponents of the Training Center did about $10 million worth of damage in their vandalism and arson spree.
According to Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens, the various attacks on construction companies associated with the building of the training center and local law enforcement has resulted in at least $10 million worth of damage.
“These are not MLK versions of peaceful, nonviolent protest,” Mayor Andre Dickens said. “To the contrary, these are arsons, vandals, they are destructive.”
“Reasonable minds know how to communicate, destructive minds do these types of things that we’re seeing,” he said…
According to Dickens, the attacks have taken place all over the metro area, including at construction sites, a youth center, near affordable housing, and at a stable for police horses.
Anyway, this is just the first of many classes of cadets, both fire and police, to come. It’s nice to see the far left using every dirty trick in the Antifa book and absolutely failing to achieve anything. I felt the same way when the Dakota Access Pipeline got built despite the best efforts of a similar group of left-wing extremists.
Of course with these people the danger is never really over. I still think some remnants of the dirtbag left will try to burn this site down eventually. I can only hope they are caught in the act and spend many years in prison. That would be the perfect outcome to this story. Until then, the police training center is open for business.
