ICE Protestors Singing Away in Newark As If at the Walls of Jericho – HotAir

These people are whack – lemme just throw that out there first.

They haven’t attacked anyone yet. They’re trying to play it off like it’s an evangelical tent revival or something.

This gathering of Lefty loons is reportedly a group of area ‘clergy’ and in the loosest sense of the word, I’m guessing.

Dozens of clergy members protested outside an ICE facility in Newark, N.J., on Monday, saying they would continue to block the gates accessing the facility until they are arrested.

The group is composed of roughly 50 clergy members from Faith in N.J. and Faith in Action. They linked arms outside the main gate of Delaney Hall Detention Center as they chanted and sang songs.

Now, I haven’t seen any evidence of hard-hitting elected officials – and I mean ‘hard-hitting’ in the literal sense – but these freaky deaky people do beat down a mean guitar riff when the spirit moves them. Mayors and congressional types will no doubt be upset that they missed another media opportunity to behave badly, but would have to refrain from using f-bombs around this crowd if they are truly ‘clergy.’

With that much caterwauling and all that blue hair, I can’t tell if other things might be moving, either.

Some of the sweet, singing little old ladies have prepared welcome signs, I guess, for the pleasant and persecuted illegal immigrants being brought into the detention center.

LOVE is not the answer in all cases, however.

But Granny tried her best, bless her little pointy head.

The protesters managed to prevent multiple vans from entering.

This little geriatric loon was filmed smushing her little old nose up on the glass at whoever was unlucky enough to be on the other side of the pane, and then blowing repeated kisses to van occupants.

Seriously.

KISSES

For some reason, they’re also blocking ambulances, not just the vans bringing the border-jumping criminals to the detention facility. That doesn’t strike me as a particularly Christian act, ‘LOVE’ sign notwithstanding.

Although the detention turned away one ambulance itself because they were worried that the ‘clergy’ who organized the protest would rush the gate…and they’re 98 (sorry, couldn’t resist).

…An ambulance was turned away from entering a gated area that the protesters were blocking on Monday because authorities feared the protesters might rush in if the gate were opened.

One protester told Fox News nobody called the ambulance, calling it a tactic to get them to move.

“There was no danger there,” he said. “We’re not going to be moved. We’ll be here as long as it takes until people start to realize this is not acceptable.

So they’re not going to be moved and are pretty sure they can just hang out in front of that gate until they have to take a potty break or swallow some more Geritol or Metamucil?

Rachel Campos-Duffy asked for a tour politely and got one this morning, and it seems the place is totally up to snuff. I think she said AOC will be grandstanding there later this afternoon.

I meant visiting.

No word on whether AOC will wear white, and tearily genuflect at the fence after clearing all the inconvenient older bodies out of the way of her shot.

It might look kind of fake if she did.

I wonder if the human shields will still be there or if the senior earlybird special will be calling at a local cafeteria?

I know they’d hate to miss her.

Dang if I didn’t answer my own question even before this posted…*sigh*

It was all Kumbayah, cranky old farts…

…and ‘Gosh, no, we won’t go!  They might beat us to the buffet!’

Right up to when the cuffs came out.

And they snatched up two – hopefully one of them was the guy with the guitar.

Took the starch right out of their collars.

And they all went home.

So much for bravely standing in the face of oppression and missing the Early Bird for a cause greater than yourself.

Or José, the Tren de Aragua rapist.

May the pieces of your tattered dignity be with you ’cause you sure ain’t no Joan d’Arc.
