Trump to sit for Atlantic interview with Jeffrey Goldberg

President Trump said he’ll meet with Jeffrey Goldberg, editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, Thursday for an interview following the notorious Signal app incident.

The president said on social media that he’ll sit down with Mr. Goldberg and two other Atlantic reporters, Michael Scherer and Ashley Parker, “not exactly pro-Trump writers, either, to put it mildly!”

“I am doing this interview out of curiosity, and as a competition with myself just to see if it’s possible for The Atlantic to be ‘truthful,’” Mr. Trump wrote. “Are they capable of writing a fair story on ‘TRUMP’? The way I look at it, what can be so bad – I WON!”

He said the title of the piece will be “The Most Consequential President of this Century.”

Mr. Goldberg revealed last month that he was inadvertently added to a Signal group chat by National Security Adviser Michael Waltz to discuss airstrikes on Houthis in Yemen.

While the administration acknowledged that the addition of Mr. Goldberg to the group chat was a mistake, it maintained that no confidential information was shared.

The chat also included Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, National Intelligence Director Tulsi Gabbard and Vice President J.D. Vance.
