So far, somewhere over a thousand French people—older folks, mainly—have died in the heat wave that hit Europe in recent days.
That’s a preliminary number, and it’s in addition to the “normal” number of unnecessary deaths that occur every summer due to a lack of air conditioning. That’s just how many more people than you would expect in a normal summer week or two to die from excess heat. Because air conditioning is unusual in France and other European countries, more people die every year from heat-related causes than die of gunshot wounds in the United States.
You could say that in Europe, the most prolific murderers are the bureaucrats who make A/C difficult to get.
EU website headline last year: “breaking the vicious circle of air conditioning.”
I think they did it. Congrats. pic.twitter.com/WCfxxiADBq

Luckily, there is one sure way to cool your body by artificial means: die. The state will then ensure your body is cold enough.
What’s crazy is the only time Europeans get A/C is when their body is put in a morgue refrigerator. https://t.co/hgaNAiq9td

It’s remarkable to see that the European Union and the various governments in it are mobilized in response to the heat wave, not to help their citizens, but to lecture them about how evil air conditioning is and how selfish they are to want it.
This is not a parody account. This is an official account belonging to the French government.
While their morgues are overflowing due to heat deaths, they proudly proclaim the absurd belief that refusing to use air conditioning to save lives will stop heat waves in the future. https://t.co/076dFAXgCA

European governments are arguing that air conditioners cause global warming, which is absurd. But even if you accepted the argument, European countries could eliminate their CO2 emissions to zero, and it would make zero difference to the trajectory of CO2 increases in the atmosphere.
None. Zip. Nada. It’s a fantasy that Europoors can influence the climate.
🇨🇳🇪🇺 China just dropped the ultimate troll on Europe.
They’re installing full air conditioning and fans for dogs while Brussels lectures everyone to “save the planet” and sweat it out during the heatwave.
The dogs are living better than most Europeans.

China emits four times as much carbon as the entire European Union, and that number is only going to increase. If a sane person faces a problem they can do nothing about, the obvious solution is to adapt rather than yell at clouds and chastise others for doing so.

It is a myth, by the way, that there is something shockingly unusual about deadly heat waves in places like Paris. While this particular heat wave is caused by a rare, if not unheard-of, weather phenomenon, Parisians are famous for taking the month of August off to escape the heat. If you can afford to, you leave Paris for more comfortable climes. The poor stay, of course, because nobody cares about THEM.
🚨🇫🇷 French Minister of Ecology SLAMS air conditioning:
“I’m horrified by people who say we just need to put AC everywhere. Do you think it will prevent forest fires or animal deaths?”
So why ban it? Because logic isn’t required – only control!pic.twitter.com/Gn8DxVFtpk

The anti-air conditioning activists are objectively mentally unwell, and the bureaucrats who enforce their diktats are themselves comfortable in their air-conditioned offices as they make others suffer. It is feudalism by another name.

Many Americans are led to believe that Europeans don’t WANT air conditioning, but for the most part that’s not true. It’s their governments that don’t want them to have it. If you doubt me, all you need to know is that governments across Europe are spending real money and putting in real effort to either convince people not to install it or prevent them from doing so.

The United States and Japan have the highest availability of air conditioning, and Europeans the lowest in the developed world.
Unfortunately, even if the regulations and government hostility to the use of air conditioning evaporated (see what I did there?) tomorrow, European governments have been systematically dismantling their power grids in their insane rush to Net Zero, so the grids wouldn’t be able to meet demand.
At this point, one has to wonder whether government policy is at least partly intended to address the growing number of elderly people in Europe, who place a strain on the welfare state. If you kill off your elderly by overheating them, you don’t have to pay their pensions and treat their illnesses anymore.
The cardiac unit of the Düsseldorf University Hospital, where people recover from heart surgery, is currently measuring 38°C/ 100.4°F. As you can see, the building is only about 15 years old. And built without central air-conditioning. pic.twitter.com/tQN7id1wy4

In the UK, one of the least served demographics when it comes to A/C is the elderly. Only 3% of households with residents 75 or older have access to A/C. Some of that has to do with their inhabiting older homes, but at least some of it is the estate commissars who patrol neighborhoods looking for unpermitted A/C units and forcing their removal.
Every day I become slightly more convinced that Europe’s disdain for AC is the result of an EU psyop to make old people die off before they put too much strain on the universal healthcare and pension systems. https://t.co/ZCkdXlWHLj

Europe is committing civilizational suicide. Call it Governmental Assistance in Dying, a more generalized version of MAiD.
