I have been beating the drum, warning that this will be a long, hot summer for political violence.
The first real outburst came during winter in Minnesota, when it is anything but hot. I reasoned that, if people are willing to riot when it is well below freezing, riot season will be especially bad.
Not exactly genius logic, but I can hear the rhetoric, see that Democrats and leftists are getting more radical, and know that Democrats love violence during election season.
Most of the violence we have seen so far has been the result of social decay, which has accelerated since 2020. Teen takeovers, shootings at graduations, flash mobs.

The political violence has been more sporadic and concentrated, but more is coming. Right now, it is New Jersey where the anti-ICE riots are concentrated.

As in Minnesota, Governor Sherrill is backing the rioters to the hilt and preventing local law enforcement from interfering with the rioters, whom she describes as “peaceful.”
She wants the ICE agents to have a target on their backs, and the rioters are happy to put one there.

Sherrill’s position is that ICE is causing all this because they shouldn’t be enforcing the law. It is the same logic of the Confederacy that the Democrats have adopted for laws and Constitutional provisions they dislike. Their position is that the Supremacy Clause applies whenever they want, and doesn’t whenever they decide it shouldn’t.

The same people who scream “hate crime” when somebody does a donut on a pride flag in the streets will shrug and call terroristic threats against law enforcement “peaceful.”
This is a crime under New Jersey’s terroristic threats law. But due to sanctuary policies, there are no local police there to make an arrest.
It also may be a federal crime under 8 USC 115.

The violence is going to keep escalating, and Sherrill, like Walz, will blame the feds for the violence they are egging on. As Walz put it, they are “at war” with the federal government.

ICE, under Tom Homan, is doing as good a job as it can to contain the riots, but the experts in crowd control and the responsibility for maintaining order on local territory are local law enforcement.
They aren’t doing their job, by design. That’s the plan.
