Democrats have been using the language of “rage” for quite a while, and every time some nutter takes a shot or tries to at President Trump, the rhetoric gets turned up ever higher.

When called out on his “warfare” rhetoric after the latest assassination attempt, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries responded that he didn’t give a damn if people didn’t like it.
It’s hard to say whether his passion is entirely real or performative, but it certainly is having an effect. The Democrats are contemplating ever more extreme measures, such as retiring the entire Virginia Supreme Court and replacing it with more compliant members, in a total banana republic move, and leaking their desperation to The New York Times.
That’s the “nonviolent” path they are floating. But it’s quite clear that the Democrats in office are putting their real efforts into whipping up their base on the outside for more “kinetic” actions.

Hasan Kwame Jeffries is, as you would guess, Hakeem Jeffries’ brother. And not a ne’er-do-well brother, but a prominent and successful man himself. Whether it is fair to claim that he serves as a proxy for Hakeem, I can’t say—my brother is certainly not a proxy for me!, so we can’t assume so.
…Jeffries is counting on riding this rage wave into the speakership. Even three presidential assassination attempts are not enough to bring a sobering moment of introspection.

But it’s clear that calling for murder is well within the Overton Window now.

Talk of violent revolution has been floating around the Antifa left for ages, but the Antifa left is now easily within the mainstream of the Democratic Party. Graham Platner has been training Antifa terrorists in the use of weapons for some time now as a member of the Socialist Gun Club in Maine, and he is the flavor of the month among Democrats, and is even being floated as a possible presidential candidate by some.

Another flavor of the month is Hasan Piker, who has been screaming for the blood of capitalists and declaring that America deserved 9/11 for years. He is now out on the campaign trail for Democratic Party candidates, and is now talking about the inevitability of violent revolution.

Assassination talk has been openly floating around for over a year, but now it is getting even more generalized into total revolution talk and race war. Last year, Democratic congressmen were telling Axios that their constituents wanted blood in the streets—their words, not mine—and that talk quickly went from whispers in the hallways onto podcasts that feature prominent Democratic politicians and friends of Barack Obama.

It is well within the Overton Window for Democrats to now openly talk about violence against their fellow citizens and elected officials. When people point this out, the Democrats give the response that every abuser gives his victim: “You made me do this!”

Guillotines are now regularly appearing at anti-Trump rallies, and on the night of the WHCD attack, the protesters outside the hotel were holding signs calling for his assassination.
Democrats have been whipping up the crowds for quite a while now, but the language is becoming quite direct and is emanating from closer and closer to the top. What were whispers in the halls of Congress are now becoming something close to open calls for murder and revolution.

Democratic Party governors are talking of civil war, and I’m not quite clear how to interpret that anymore. Is it a metaphor, or are they, when they show up with Jennifer Welch and Hasan Piker, intentionally encouraging the Brownshirts?
