Trump lashes out against conservative media figures over Iran war

President Trump attacked high-profile conservative media figures over their criticism of the war in Iran, labeling his former boosters as “dumb,” “low IQ” and “mentally ill.”

In a blistering Truth Social post Friday, Mr. Trump blasted Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens and Alex Jones, all prominent conservative media personalities who have broken with the president over the Iran war.

Mr. Trump also said he should post a list of MAGA personalities who are “good, bad, and somewhere in the middle.” “Wouldn’t that be fascinating,” he wrote.

“It’s easy! Tucker is a low IQ person — Always easy to beat, and highly overrated!!! So are Megyn Kelly, ‘Candace’ (Really Dumb and mentally ill) and Bankrupt Alex Jones, who is completely ‘fried.’ There are others, also! Then we have some that are very good, true MAGA all the way and smart,” Mr. Trump wrote.

It is the second time in as many weeks that Mr. Trump went after his former allies. Last week, he said the four media personalities are “losers, just trying to latch on to MAGA.”

“They’re stupid people, they know it, their families know it and everyone else knows it, too!” Mr. Trump wrote. He added that Mr. Carlson “should see a good psychiatrist,” called Ms. Owens “crazy,” described Mr. Jones as saying “some of the dumbest things” and referred to Ms. Kelly as “nastily” asking him questions in an interview.

The four podcasters have stepped up their criticism of both Mr. Trump and the Iran war ahead of his social media attacks.

In the past week, Mr. Carlson, a former Fox News host, called on U.S. military aides to reject plans to kill Iranian civilians, while Ms. Owens, the former communications director of Turning Point USA, said the Trump administration was “satanic” and urged Congress to “have the Mad King Trump removed, and Mr. Jones called for the president to be removed via the 25th Amendment.

“Trump’s mad that he’s wrong. He’s mad that he got set up by Israel,” Mr. Jones said.
