Pam Bondi, freshly ousted as U.S. attorney general, said Thursday that she intends to help new acting Attorney General Todd Blanche transition into the job.
After that, she said, she will move on to a job in the private sector, though she did not give specifics. President Trump, when he announced he fired Ms. Bondi, also said she was headed to a private sector job.
In a statement, Ms. Bondi said that leading Mr. Trump’s “highly successful efforts to make America safer and more secure has been the honor of a lifetime.”
“I remain eternally grateful for the trust that President Trump placed in me to Make America Safe Again,” she said.
She called the first year of the DOJ in Mr. Trump’s second term “easily the most consequential first year” of the department’s history.
She noted that since February 2025, the department has secured the lowest murder rate in 125 years, secured first-ever terrorism convictions against members of Antifa, broken up domestic and transnational gangs across the country, taken custody of more than 90 key cartel figures and won 24 favorable rulings at the Supreme Court.

Ms. Bondi lost the job after disappointing Mr. Trump with her handling of the Epstein files and failing to successfully prosecute several of the president’s foes.
Still, she said she would work to assist Mr. Blanche in replacing her.
“Over the next month, I will be working tirelessly to transition the office of Attorney General to the amazing Todd Blanche before moving to an important private sector role I am thrilled about, and where I will continue fighting for President Trump and this Administration,” she said.
