April 1 With an Administration That Has a Sense of Humor – HotAir

Dr Alice just tagged me on this one, and I have to admit – I thought it was pretty dang funny.

‘Peak April 1’ she said.

Absolutely, and an excellent use of AI.

But the best thing is how these guys laugh at themselves so easily. They are comfortable in their skins and don’t care if you know it, which makes them impervious to insult and damn near impossible to rattle.

The silly joke naturally had to be explained and parsed by ‘the news.

You know that it has to have the opposition, who have nothing to offer but ad hominem attacks, in spasms of frustration, which only increases the level of their manic ferocity.

Doug Burgum’s Department of the Interior was in the spirit, too, posting these ‘nomenclature reclassifications’ of wildlife seen throughout the National Park Service.

Keep your eyes and nostrils peeled for Freedom Foggers.

What a hoot.

The Park Service hit it early with a charming post they sent out yesterday.

The entire attitude is refreshing and totally non-preachy.

Were we not in such serious times, you know there would be exceedingly clever April Fools posts from Vance (perhaps a visit from his chubby cherubic doppleganger), probably from State, if not Rubio himself (dressed for action on the couch for assignment as yet another head of state), but the world being where it is right now, they’re awfully busy with heavy stuff, as it should be.

Other countries, not so much. And the people in charge in those places hardly know how to laugh at themselves.

Having watched for quite a while, I’d venture a guess that they probably don’t feel much like doing so, considering how popular they are in any event.

Take the Labor Party in the United Kingdom right now…[in her best Henny Youngman voice] PLEASE.

They’ve sunk so low in everyone’s estimation that Larry, No. 10 Downing Street’s geriatric resident feline, made more complimentary news today for catching a mouse during Prime Minister Starmer’s press conference than Starmer himself.

WE COULD ACTUALLY SEE THE GRUESOME END TO THE MOUSE

BUT PERHAPS THAT’S THE MOST INTERESTING THING THAT HAPPENED TODAY IN DOWNING STREET

Woof. That’s brutal.

Some April Fools’ aren’t really jokes but jibes, poking at fools now wishing they hadn’t been so foolish.

The Bee got a ‘fact check: true’ media dig in.

I would like to leave you with an April Fools video I’ve just seen for the first time that took some doing on the part of the professor giving the lecture.

I hope those kids appreciated the thought and spirit that went into it.

Humor makes everything better.

Editor’s note: If we thought our job in pushing back against the Academia/media/Democrat censorship complex was over with the election, think again. This is going to be a long fight.
