That’s Why We Don’t Trust Authority, New York Times – HotAir

The New York Times is deeply concerned about the Trump administration’s looking into the admissions practices of American medical schools.

The medical profession, you see, is sacrosanct, and the very idea of poltroons like Donald Trump’s cronies looking askance at anything the “experts” do is enough to make you sick!

I like how they put the problem in their headline: “taking aim at the heart of scientific authority.” It’s not truth about which they are concerned, but preserving authority, you know.

The thing is, what the Trump administration is looking into has nothing to do with “scientific” anything, except, perhaps, the perversion of our scientific infrastructure, turning it into a DEI factory in which science means little, and “social justice” concerns rule everything from admissions to medical practice.

At the University of Minnesota Medical School, the Hippocratic Oath has been replace with doctors being force to pledge fealty to woke ideology.

The AMA is focused, at its annual conference, on LGBTQ issues.

Imagine you’re transported into an AMA conference. What do you imagine people are talking about?

Medical stuff, right? Like cancer treatment. Diabetes maybe.

Nope.

You’d hear about “Supporting LGBTQ Inclusion in long-term care facilities.” The topic is so hot, the line for the pro-side stretches to the end of the room. The dissent microphone goes untouched.

It doesn’t matter that that the population they are trying to be inclusive of doesn’t exist or that this has nothing to do with medicine. The AMA has evolved beyond those old notions of healthy and sick.

It’s all about equity and inclusion. Didn’t you know.

During the COVID pandemic, doctors abandoned their already politically motivated recommendations on isolating people in order to adopt their advocacy for riots, because racism is a public health emergency.

Everything is about immigration, cultural sensitivity, importing foreign doctors, as if a country with over 300 million people can’t educate enough doctors here.

The AMA has become the hammer that nails the interests of foreign doctors onto the American healthcare systems.

Case in point, Resolution 416: Culturally and Religiously Inclusive Food Options.”

No matter that this country is the source of their luxuries and comforts, they still demand we become like the places they left. And somehow they still have the audacity to lecture us about “equity.”

“This is not a matter of preference but a matter of respect and equity.”

Medical schools are no longer interested in recruiting the best and the brightest, but the darkest, and are perfectly willing to abandon standards to ensure that the proper racial balance is created, whether the entrants are prepared or not. Why are they recruiting people who are manifestly not capable to perform their duties?

Social justice.

Not only is this dangerous and stupid, but it is also illegal. Not that this ever stops the “authorities.” Medical fraud in the service of gender ideology is now a big deal. Since the transitioning of children has become problematic given the Trump administration’s policies, gender-bending doctors are resorting to insurance fraud to continue their gruesome but profitable practices.

As Americans have soured on trusting the “authorities,” the elite have been focusing on reinforcing “authority” itself. If persuasion doesn’t work, coercion will.

It’s not always for their own benefit, even. Gender policies have a financial component, but the commitment goes far beyond mere pecuniary concerns. A cultish adherence to ideology plays a huge role. Why focus on recruiting unprepared or incompetent doctors? Or foreign doctors?

It’s not just about making money. It’s about replacement.

Scientific “authority” depends on the rejection of actual science. The emphasis is on authority, not science. It is modern-day Lysenkoism, dressed up as social justice.

It is a shame that we need to destroy “scientific authority,” but it is the only way to save science, just as dismantling the current university system is a vital task in order to save higher education.

The institutions are fundamentally corrupt.
