Jersey Mikie Sherrill Is All About Protecting the Garden State’s Illegal Aliens – HotAir

Former congresswoman and New Jersey governor Mikie Sherrill is the equally as dangerous, but slightly less creepy, Central Intelligence Agency-spook sister and former Congressional roommate of the bizarrely bloodless Abigail Spanberger, who was elevated at the same time by willing Trump deranged dupes to be the Virginia governor.

Besides their angular frames, almost identical skin tones, postures, and hairstyles, the two women share deeply duplicitous natures. I suppose this was helpful working as a dedicated progressive for the CIA in the midst of all their Obama and Biden-directed Trump warfare, but it does lend a sense of disillusionment in the aftermath of a campaign when one has fashioned oneself as a ‘moderate.’

You know – a rational, normal type person.

Suckers in both states fell for the act.

In Virginia, the new ‘moderate’ governor’s volte-face has left residents’ stomachs churning from both the ferocity of the g-forces encountered during the reversals and the anger at the unconscionable, unimaginable, possibly unconstitutional (in many cases) changes rammed through in the aftermath.

Spanberger is such a cringe-inducing, vampirish freak of nature that it’s hard to even watch her, let alone conceive of voting for her.

Yet, they did.

North of there, in New Jersey, Sherrill might have evinced more bloodflow, but she was no more impressive a figure, and still isn’t.

She is a tongue-tied, progressive, woke smothered mess, who also ran as a gentler, more moderate version of a verminous, term-limited, incumbent NJ governor – the rodential Phil Murphy. While she acted as if she sympathized with voters’ complaints over taxes and energy costs, she never really eschewed the Murphy policies that imposed the suffering on the state. In many cases, she reiterated her intention to carry them forward.

Yet, they still voted for her.

I hope they’re thrilled with what they got.

The self-described ‘moderate’ has been using her time to make inroads with the more aggressive communities in her state’s diverse population.

I guess you could call this outreach session ‘Hobnobbing With Hamas‘ as the imam was convicted in absentia by an Israeli jury in 1993 of that very thing.

The feds have tried to deport the hate-preacher several times, but that didn’t stop the governor from making a new friend.

DIVERSITY IS OUR STRENGTH

While the NJ legislature isn’t quite as populated with progressive radicals and convicted felons as Virginia’s, it does have its confirmed, posturing AWFL lunatics.

And both houses – the Senate and the General Assembly – are firmly in Democratic hands, so it’s rare that Republicans can throw a wrench in anything. Now that campaign season is over, and no one has to behave like a ‘normal person’ for at least another year and a half, they got down to protecting the people who matter most to them – the illegal aliens who are in the state.

You knew it wasn’t going to be NJ taxpayers and residents. I mean, you KNEW.

Estimates are that the number of illegals in the state is one of the highest in the country. NJ Senate Republicans put out a study in 2024 that will just drop your jaw on the deck.

After a two month research effort by my office team, we have discovered that the cost to New Jerseyans for the presence and care of illegal aliens here in New Jersey is at least $7.3 billion a year.

There are an estimated 892,000 illegal aliens in New Jersey.

That is nearly $1,600 for every one of our 4.8 million workers in our State per year.

1 From a household perspective, that is over $2,100 for every one of our 3.4 million households in New Jersey per year.

2 We have attempted to make reasonably conservative estimates.

This report is limited to the cost analysis of illegal aliens in New Jersey. It only looks at the cost of illegal aliens from State and local expenditures, not the federal. For over three decades the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) has been providing extensive research on this topic. They tend to publish an extensive report on the characteristics of the Union, with State specific estimates, every three years or so. Their last major report was published in April of 2023, but since then there has been a major wave of illegal alien encounters at the southern border of the United States.3 With an all-time monthly record number of encounters in December for 2023 of over 300,000.4 So my office and I have sought to update the number through April of 2024.

The NJ legislature, in its infinite concern for the citizens who elected it, swung into action this past session and presented the new governor with three whoppers designed to protect these uninvited, illegal, non-citizens to the detriment of residents and federal immigration law enforcement, both the actions themselves and the safety of the federal officers

The first bill codifies the Attorney General’s 2018 Immigrant Trust Directive into state law. New Jersey has been a sanctuary state by executive action (an attorney general directive) since November 2018.

The second severely restricts information‑sharing with the federal government AND regulates the MVC’s ability to share personal motorist data. It’s like 9/11 never happened for these people!

The third and final bill requires law enforcement to identify themselves during detentions and arrests AND, in a move that can only be described as pro-doxxing, limits the use of face masks by all law enforcement including ICE agents. Federal immigration officers have faced doxxing across the country since the Trump Administration’s enforcement actions ramped up last year.

With all the gravitas worthy of a major state’s Chief Executive, Sherrill smirked her way through the signing, unironically protecting ‘constitutional rights’ and ensuring New Jerseyans stay safe.

Lucky thing for this illegal alien. He killed that New Jerseyan during a hit-and-run right in the nick of time.

Sherrill’s disgusting, defamatory, incendiary, and hyperbolic rhetoric (as well as her call to doxx ICE agents) notwithstanding…

I can’t believe we have to say this, but in the United States of America, we’re not going to tolerate masked roving militias pretending, pretending to be well-trained law enforcement agents,” she said.

…as Prof Jonathan Turley points out, the very Constitution Sherrill points to as enrobing this legislation with protections for illegals…

…Sherrill’s signature on Wednesday comes as she continues to target the Trump administration’s immigration raids. Earlier this year, she announced a portal to allow residents to upload photos and videos of ICE agents conducting immigration operations.

“If you see an ICE agent in the street, get your phone out, we want to know,” Sherrill said at the time. “They have not been forthcoming. They will pick people up, they will not tell us who they are, they will not tell us if they’re here legally, they won’t check. They’ll pick up American citizens. They picked up a five-year-old child. We want documentation, and we are going to make sure we get it.”

“We saw people in the street with masks and no insignia. So not accountable at all, hiding from the population — and we saw again and again an undermining of what law enforcement should do to keep people safe,” she added.

…will be the undoing of the state’s power grab.

Jersey Mikie’s busy patting herself on the progressive back in the meantime.

…That’s why I just signed a package of legislation to keep our communities safe – strengthening trust between law enforcement and the communities they serve, banning ICE agents from wearing masks, and protecting residents’ privacy from federal overreach.

In New Jersey, we still follow the Constitution and uphold the rule of law.

That ‘uphold the rule of law‘ is such a hoot.

And life is sure going to get spicy for the four cities with the highest concentration of illegals in the state if they feel like the state’s got their back. I mean, look what they’re doing now?

Where are the highest concentrations of illegals?

Of course no one knows for sure. That’s the point of a sanctuary state! But we have a fairly good idea. For example, according to data from institutions including the U.S. Census and Pew Research, somewhere between 25-30% of New Jersey’s illegal alien population is dispersed between just four cities:

Newark (Essex): approx. 35k–50k

Jersey City (Hudson): approx. 30k–45k

Paterson (Passaic): approx. 25k–40k

Elizabeth (Union): approx. 25k–35k

As you’d expect, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) issued a statement when queried, saying they wouldn’t be playing along.

…NBC10 reached out to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security regarding the new law and a spokesperson provided the following statement:

“Sanctuary politicians attempting to ban our federal law enforcement from wearing masks is despicable and a flagrant attempt to endanger our officers. To be crystal clear: we will not abide by this unconstitutional ban. The Supremacy Clause makes it clear that New Jersey’s sanctuary politicians do not control federal law enforcement.

“This law from sanctuary politicians in New Jersey is irresponsible, reckless, and dangerous.

“ICE officers wear face coverings for one reason: to protect themselves and their families from real-world threats including agitators. The danger is not hypothetical. Public databases and online “lists” have been created to expose officers’ identities. Today, our ICE law enforcement officers face a more than 1,300% increase in assaults, 3,300% increase in vehicular attacks, and an 8,000% increase in death threats against them.

This, of course, only invites whistleblowing confrontations to escalate under the guise of ‘That’s illegal HERE‘ when it’s actually not.

And you know these Democratic ghouls are just dying for their next ICE martyr.

It’s been a while, and they sure need one right about now to take some of this airport heat off.
