Without Double Standards… – HotAir

Nazi. Gestapo. Existential threat. Fascist. Pedophile. White supremacist. War criminal.

Democrats and Pravda have spent more than a decade slandering Donald Trump, his supporters, and anybody to the right of Hasan Piker, who is now the Democrats’ favorite Twitch streamer, as Jennifer Welch is their favorite podcaster.

Liberal podcaster Jennifer Welch suggests the Dem establishment needs to get on board with wanting conservatives dead or else far-leftists will come “after you in the same way that we come after MAGA.”

Welch: *Plays video of protester celebrating Kirk’s murder.”

Welch: “Listen up, Democratic establishment. You can either jump on board with this, or we’re coming after you in the same way that we come after MAGA. Period.”

As I wrote yesterday, it has become mainstream for Democrats to want or even call for Trump’s death, often through assassination. During his first term, they made plays about it. Jimmy Kimmel jokes about it. Hasan Piker calls for it, along with the blood of capitalists running in the streets.

That’s not extremist talk. Piker is on the campaign trail with leading Democratic candidates, presidential candidates go on his podcast, and the New York Times’ center-left “moderate” defends Piker. Democrats in Congress told Axios that their constituents “want blood.”

These are the same people, of course, who trot out terms like “stochastic terrorism” whenever it pleases them, accusing Republicans of calling for violence whenever they criticize a Democrat. “Misgendering” people is “genocide,” because everything the Democrats don’t like is “genocide” or “white supremacy” and presents an existential threat to democracy.

After Paul Pelosi was attacked in 2022, Jake Tapper did an entire show on the dangers of stochastic terrorism and of systematically demonizing a person.

Tapper blamed the right and QAnon for inciting the attack. He said calling someone a pedophile or claiming that someone is out to hurt people will result in violence.

Hey Jake, the entire platform of the Democrat party for the past year has been to call Trump a pedophile and to claim that he is out to hurt people. It’s also what Jimmy Kimmel does almost every night.

Now after Jimmy Kimmel’s “joke” about Melania being a widow, Tapper says that jokes are just jokes and are not calls for violence.

Jake Tapper is one of the biggest hypocrites on such matters. He will get on his high horse and appeal to high rhetorical standards when it suits him, suggesting that Republicans caused a deranged homeless man to attack Paul Pelosi because we inspire “stochastic terrorism,” but when Jimmy Kimmel, who suggests Trump is a pedophile every night implies that Trump’s death would be great for Melania and the country, it was just a “joke.”

Kimmel, too, got on his high horse when Aaron Rodgers (incorrectly) suggested that Kimmel was a pedo, and he claimed that his show is extensively fact-checked, including his jokes, so you can be certain that everything Kimmel says is gospel.

Democrats don’t just slander Trump and Republicans with every breath; they call for actual violence in the streets all the time. You have all seen the supercuts. Just last week, Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries gave his “Maximum Warfare Everywhere All the Time” press conference, and he has no regrets after this latest Trump assassination attempt.

Cole Allen’s manifesto was filled with EXACTLY the same rhetoric that Democrats spout every day. His BlueSky account was filled with retweets of mainstream Democrats saying exactly what he did in his manifesto.

It was, strikingly, perfectly normal, as was the response of even some reporters in the room, who said out loud that they hoped that the shooter got Trump.

The same people who decry “stochastic terrorism” will look you in the eye and deny that they ever say anything that could incite violence.

Reporters who will claim to feel “unsafe” when a Republican is allowed to speak or write an Opinion piece will casually throw out the term “Nazi” and “paedo” without a second thought. It is as natural to them as it is for Hasan Piker to drop the “F-bomb.”

The more incendiary the accusations, the more the person who makes them is amplified by the Pravda folks who decry Trump’s rhetoric. Why is Hasan Piker featured in The New York Times regularly these days? Why is he now a popular stop on the campaign podcast circuit,  or even trotted out to campaign with candidates?

He feeds the Democratic Party base what they want to hear.

I know very few Republicans who will put a bumper sticker on their car because they know for certain that their car will be vandalized. When Elon Musk did his stint at DOGE, Teslas around the country were vandalized, Tesla owners were harassed, and Tesla dealerships were firebombed.

Listening to people like Jake Tapper, a “journalist,” lecture us about stochastic terrorism or dangerous rhetoric one moment and then justifying it the next is, shall we say, frustrating. Tapper, no doubt, believes his own bull$h!t, but that only makes it worse.

When I took a vacation from the political world and sold cameras for a couple of years—I needed to detoxify—I was subjected every day to conversations by my colleagues and sometimes customers saying the most vile things about Trump, unprompted. It was just part of the natural flow of conversations with liberals.

I just didn’t participate because what is the point? Nobody wanted an actual conversation. They wanted to hate.

I suspect that many liberals don’t even know that they do this anymore. It is as normal as breathing to them, and as dangerous as hell for those of us not in the circle of acceptable opinion.
