Ed: I missed this yesterday but it’s worth including today. The more this woman talks, the better it gets for Ken Paxton, even if Crockett isn’t running against him. This is so bat-guano insane, especially with the maniacal laugh, that it speaks for itself as to how unhinged the Left is over wokery.

Matt Margolis at PJ Media: This is truly a sickness for people like Crockett. Everything must be seen through a racial lens, and everything is rooted in racism to them.

It’s a pattern with her. Crockett lost the Democrat primary for the Texas U.S. Senate race, and she blamed that defeat on racism, too. An election, a soccer game, it doesn’t matter. The explanation is always the same, and it’s never about what actually happened.

As far as I’m concerned, she can’t leave Congress fast enough. …

Crockett’s remarks reveal what race obsession has done to the left, and it’s one more reason voters should be counting down the days until she’s out of Congress for good.

Ed: It’s also a good reason for voters to turn out and deny other race-obsessed demagogues public office at all levels. This is more than just a pattern; it’s an industry, one that needs to be put out of business permanently.

Axios: Don’t expect a lot of public lamentations from House Democrats next month if Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-Mich.) loses to his Democratic Socialists of America (DSA)-backed primary opponent.

Why it matters: That would be a drastic deviation from recent DSA primary wins, which set off alarm bells among the Democratic establishment. …

  • “It’s somewhat of a unique circumstance,” Rep. Greg Meeks (D-N.Y.), a top ally of House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.), told Axios.
  • Another House Democrat, granted anonymity to offer a blunter assessment of how members are viewing the race, told Axios: “No one cares.”





Ed: They’ll care when it plays into Mike Rogers’ Senate campaign in the fall against either Haley Stevens or Abdul El-Sayed. Democrats are letting the radicals gain a foothold just because they’re embarrassed by a lack of black representation from Detroit. Why didn’t they recruit a saner and mainstream black Democrat to run instead?

Ed: He’s also apparently unaware that socialist systems always progress toward communism. Even Marx and Engels didn’t offer much differentiation between the two.  The real change made by the DSA was dropping a dishonest façade. This was and is a Menshivik/Bolshevik progression, not a contradiction.

NY Post: A disgruntled migrant allegedly gunned down three staffers at his Minnesota apartment block in a crazed rampage after he couldn’t cancel his parking garage contract.

Tsegaab Binessu, 30, allegedly shot dead Nansi Fuentes Zambrano, 25, Dena Silcox, 56, and Adam Wilwerding, 43, at the complex in St. Paul, Minnesota, Monday, KSTP reported.

Binessu, originally from Ethiopia, wanted to cancel his $65-a-month parking garage contract as he had aspirations to join the Navy, documents seen by the outlet claim. …

Binessu was arrested driving Fuentes Zambrano’s car and he moaned that he “hated the American system” during his interrogation.

He claimed he had been trying for seven years to bring his wife and kids from Ethiopia – but he had been stymied due to the immigration process.

Ed: Diversity is our strength, right? Clearly this wasn’t about a migrant wanting to wear the uniform and serve his adopted country. This was about grudges against the US, taken out on three innocent people who helped manage an apartment complex.

Axios: President Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio aren’t planning to block the extradition to the U.K. of the Tate brothers, the notorious “manosphere” influencers accused of rape and human trafficking.

Why it matters: Andrew and Tristan Tate were part of the coalition of hyper-masculine social media voices advocating for Trump when he was reelected in 2024. The brothers have reported connections to two of Trump’s sons and have had support from top Trump advisers. …

  • A source familiar with Trump’s thinking said the president wants nothing to do with the brothers.
  • “The Tates want to pretend they were responsible for the president’s victory [in 2024], but they weren’t part of our strategy and the president doesn’t know them,” a former Trump campaign adviser said.

Ed: This is a no-brainer, and I seriously doubt anyone at the White House or Mar-a-Lago gives two tin craps about the Tates. They have long been toxic, and their schtick in 2024 had less to do with helping Trump than it did in rehabbing their awful reputations.

Ed: Interesting. Right now, Hong is leading the Dem primary but performing worse against the GOP nominee in the general election. The DSA is about to teach Democrats another lesson about radicals poaching into their party primaries.

John Hinderaker at Power Line: I know hundreds of Minnesota Republicans, and I don’t know anyone who will vote for Mike Lindell in the primary. So I am skeptical of these poll numbers. The problem, of course, is that there are two normal candidates in the race, Lisa Demuth and Kendall Qualls, and they split the normal vote. Qualls won the party’s endorsement at the state convention, in a close vote that was marred by technical errors. Demuth has raised by far the most money and seems to have the support of most party insiders. She is running an effective campaign, while Lindell, as far as I have seen, is not running any campaign at all.

If Lindell were to get the nomination, it would be one of the worst disasters in our state’s political history. He would lose to Amy Klobuchar something like 80%-20% or 85%-15%, and he would drag down the rest of the ticket. I don’t think I would vote for Lindell; he doesn’t have the capacity to serve as governor. It would be like voting for Joe Biden. So I would probably leave that line blank.

Ed: This is the kind of misguided endorsement that Trump made in 2020. I don’t think any Republican can win statewide in Minnesota, but having Lindell on the ticket could potentially do some damage to down-ballot races that the GOP could conceivably win. It’s an unforced error, and shows Trump is still too focused on grievances from six years ago than on dealing with present realities.

Once again, the two Republican leaders appear to be on different planets. 





Ed: This is idiotic on Thune’s part. He’s supposed to work on Republican objectives, not on Democrats’ terms. Would Chuck Schumer ever declare himself more open to dealing with Senate Republicans than his own caucus? Of course not, and Schumer isn’t even that competent as a caucus leader. If Thune would rather work with Democrats, then Senate Republicans ought to replace Thune with someone more interested in working with Republicans in both chambers.

WSJ: The U.S. and Israel fought together closely when they launched the war on Iran in February, drawing on each others’ strengths in firepower, intelligence and logistics in an air campaign that had little precedent.

Now, the U.S. and regional officials are concerned Israel’s involvement would add a disruptive variable when they are trying to wring diplomatic concessions from Iran and avoid all-out war.

Washington has asked Israel to stay out of the fight for now, people familiar with the matter said. 

The Persian Gulf’s Arab states are lobbying the U.S. to ensure that Israel doesn’t resume strikes on Iran, said Arab officials familiar with the discussion. They fear Israeli involvement would trigger a fierce response from Tehran that potentially targets their energy infrastructure, the officials said. It also would make it harder politically for Gulf states to join in the attacks on Iran themselves if necessary.

Ed: I suspect the Israelis are content to remain on the sidelines, just as long as they can robustly pursue Hezbollah in Lebanon and Hamas in Gaza. The attempt to “wring” concessions from the IRGC is doomed to failure, which is becoming increasingly obvious at the White House. But the US doesn’t need Israel for this phase of the war, and the Israelis don’t need air raids from Iranian ballistic missiles either.

Ed: Maybe more like 50. It’s been a long number of decades since Marlboro could advertise in print, but Mo’s absolutely correct that this font became iconic for Marlboro in its ads. This is a curious change, because of its sheer unnecessary character. The red color is also similar, as Michele B observed on X, but at least it’s the same red Coca-Cola has always used. Why change what has already kept you at #1, and why is this font more “authentic”? Weird.

WTAE: A former Pennsylvania House representative is facing federal charges after officials said he possessed photos and videos of sexually explicit content depicting underage teens.

According to court papers obtained by Pittsburgh’s Action News 4 on Tuesday, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received complaints via their CyberTipline on June 19, which were flagged as “child pornography possession, distribution, manufacture.”

The report was also flagged for what appeared to be produced or homemade files.

Court papers said Jesse White, a former Democratic state House representative, was identified as the person behind the generated report.

Ed: A handful of reporters, including Salena Zito, remarked on what a creep White had been while in office. Kudos to WTAE for not playing “what’s my party” with this story, too.
