Sophie Cunningham Fans Harassed in Seattle for Standing Up for Women's Rights – HotAir

Has there been a moment’s peace in the last month for the moo-rons running the Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA), be it players, coaches, management, or even owners?





Now, as I have stated previously, I am not a basketball fan in the first place, and there are very few women’s sports I give a rip about on top of that. But the WNBA has never, ever been on my radar until I, like millions of others of ‘who cares’ types, heard about Caitlin Clark moving over, and we were interested in how it went.

For sure not interested in the league itself or watching games.

I mean…what even is this?

The stone-faced Asian players who don’t speak a word of English on the women’s golf tour are more exciting.

JUST KIDDING YAWN

In any event, we’ve all seen that the WNBA is a pretty brutal mean girls’ club, and to those of us out here looking in, it seems like it’s in the hands of a surly group of racist, mostly lesbian, green-eyed monsters. These athletes, who have been on league teams and playing for salaries subsidized by the men’s NBA League for all those years (because attendance and retail sales have never been enough to even support three of them), have reacted badly to Clark’s arrival instead of thanking their lucky stars someone had arrived to shake the moribund, low-energy organization out of its perpetual doldrums. 

The delightful women of the league had it in for Clark from the beginning.





It’s been nothing but jealousy off-court, vicious body blows on court, and a decided lack of team member support and loyalty all around as Clark faced constant mental and physical abuse simply for being the best. 

Clark’s wonderful, close-knit group…I kid. Her WOC Fever teammates seem to feel that getting the crap knocked out of her was part of Clark’s white, heterosexual privilege. Clark remained a literal league punching bag until the inimitable and undauntable Sophie Cunningham arrived this January to finally put a stop to the flagrant abuse, giving CC comfort to know that someone, at long last, had her six.

The WNBA has had black eye after black eye over the treatment of Clark and the blatant disparity between her and the pack of aggressive black players doing the targeting. When Cunningham happily dove into the mix, the WNBA looked even worse, if that was possible.

First, Cunningham upped her game when she realized how the deck was stacked.

And then she dropped the ‘keep guys out of women’s sports’ bomb, and doubled down on it with ‘I said what I said.’





Naturally, in a league filled with alternative lifestyle types and heavily promoted to the alphabet soup sex group’s heavy trans following, this had tiny woke heads exploding.

Tough on them.

It also made a lot of young girls who enjoyed basketball feel like they had a hero on the court.

But when CC, Sophie, and the Fever traveled to a game in a place like Seattle, where crazy is in the water, the hate-filled lunatic side of the trans-lesbian fringe broke into the open and went all the way from parking lot protests to the owner’s box.

Two cute-as-buttons young girls wore XX-XY T-shirts (called ‘transphobic’ by the ideology cult members) to the game and held up handmade signs of support for Sophie. A large woman approached and cussed them out royally.

The large, frighteningly aggressive woman is a co-owner of the Seattle team, seen below.





Nice huh?

Great look, WNBA.

They forced an apology out of the gorgon, suspended, and fined her, but did nothing about the man who accosted the children in the stands or the other abuse the girls received.

Sophie said what she said.

But the WNBA wasn’t done yet.

On its official social media account yesterday, it posted the cutest little video of arch-villain Angel Reese and Paige Bueckers betting against each other on an upcoming game.

EXCUSE ME, WHUT

Before someone woke up and deleted it.

Morons that they are, the innerwebs is forever.

And then Angel Reese, the ‘protected species,’ as the Toronto Tempo coach was fined and had to apologize for calling her, nonchalantly told everyone at a press conference after that game how she expected a Venmo payment from Bueckers for losing.





Somebody at the WNBA gonna do something about this or…nah?

… supporting the league’s second most popular player and who don’t want dudes playing women’s sports or in women’s locker rooms.

Probably ‘nah‘ since the WNBA is the one who thought the video was okey-dokey to begin with. 

Back in May, when the abuse of Clark seemed to be reaching a point of no return, and Cunningham had not yet soared into the public stratosphere, there was a precursor of what could happen in the twinkle of an eye if the Golden Goose Abuse continued.

…Even today, out of jersey sales for ALL basketball players, hers are second only to NBA star Steph Curry…meaning she sells even more jerseys than guys like Lebron James.

But with the hype came extra scrutiny on a league that was clearly unprepared for the big time, and more interested in identity politics than in growth.

Before, the story was about a generational talent. 

Now it’s becoming about a generational fumble.

I’ve never seen anything like it.





Clark, Cunningham, or both walk away, or – nightmare fuel – start their own little outfit?

This little ‘we’re somebody’ fantasy the other players have been living is over.

I’m sure the mighty WNBA braintrust is huddled once again in a panic, wondering how they can get out of hot water by blaming this on Caitlin Clark.

If I were a gambling type, I’d bet on them continuing to fumble away. 

Seems like a sure thing.
