I had to say something about this horrific crime.
This man’s only apparent sin was an open and proud support of Donald Trump.
So much so that his Trump and American flag festooned property – and it was just his property, mind you – became known as ‘The Trump House on Buchanan.’
From the hurricane fences to the light poles, 69-year-old Kerry Sheron’s house and lot in Escondido were awash in vibrant red, white, and blue, with lots of Trump blazing out.
Sure, there were tons of cranky neighbors about what they called ‘the eyesore,’ and I’ll bet lots of heartburn over the name on the fence and in the trees, but it’s a free country, and I am guessing Mr. Sheron didn’t have a pain-in-the-ass HOA to fight off.
His house. His Trump castle.
Six days ago, the Vietnam veteran was critically wounded in an unbelievably vicious attack on the sidewalk outside his home.
It was savage. And it was a neighbor.

Police responded to the assault and found the owner “suffering from significant injuries” and a good Samaritan that interviened also injured.
Butler had fled the scene when police had arrived, but was found about a half mile away and apprehended.
It was revealed that Butler lives just around the corner from the victim.
The ‘Trump House’ has become a target of hostility, with one online comment reading, “My buddy lived down the street from him. Whenever I went to visit I made sure to swing by that place and shout stuff at them.”
The picture of his poor face in the hospital is so ghastly, and his wife was just beside herself the next day as she updated the press that doctors had ‘no hope’ the older man would recover.

Kerry Sheron, 69, was in critical condition following the violent assault outside his Escondido property on Wednesday afternoon.
His wife, Maria, revealed to The California Post through tears that her husband isn’t expected to survive.
The alleged assailant, 32-year-old Escondido resident Thomas Caleb Butler, was arrested on attempted murder charges and faces life in prison if convicted.
Sheron, who describes himself as a Army veteran, is known for adorning his Buchanan Street home with Trump flags and other pro-American regalia.
Mr Sheron died last night.
32-year-old Caleb Butler, a Navy vet with a reported case of PTSD, had been arrested on assault and elderly abuse charges earlier for the incident.
…Prosecutors allege 32-year-old Thomas Caleb Butler attacked Sheron in what officials described as an unprovoked assault.
Butler, who has been described in local reports as a Navy veteran, has pleaded not guilty to charges including attempted murder, elder abuse, criminal threats and battery.
The brutality of it all was staggering.
…“This was an unprovoked attack on an elderly man at his home in Escondido,” said prosecutor Ross Garcia.
Thomas Butler is facing charges of attempted first-degree murder, elder abuse causing great bodily injury, and two subsequent charges of battery and making threats, according to Ross.
He detailed that Butler punched and stomped on the homeowner’s head at least two times before a witness stepped in.
“A witness intervened and the defendant in this matter approached him, advanced on him, threw a punch and made criminal threats,” he said.
The wife of the man now accused of killing the Trump House owner says she left because he was so violent.

Breanna Butler, 32, told The California Post that her husband Thomas Caleb Butler, also 32, acted violently toward his family and dangerously mixed alcohol with his medication “frequently.”
